Recent Islamic awakening was discussed in a conference held in northwestern Iran attended by luminaries from Shia and Sunni denominations.

Conference on “Islamic Awakening in the Region” was held in the northeastern Province of Kermanshah attended by officials and religious figures from across the country.

Some of the figures in this conference were the international deputy of Qom Seminary, head of the University of Religions and Denominations, Provincial officials and Shia, Sunni figures.

Jalal Monkarsi, Deputy of Kermanshah governor noted that the world is surprised at the Islamic Revolution of Iran saying,” Enemies during the past 30 years have been after carrying out different plots in the form of cultural invasion and questioning the jurisprudent.”

He warned against the serious plans of the enemies and said,” Enemies have put seditionist moves on top of their agenda and the threat has been felt by the Leader Of Islamic Ummah And Oppressed People Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei when the leader, in the trip to Kordestan Province banned any sacrilege of the Sunni sanctities.”

This religious figure also referred to the Sunni Ulima (scholars) who approved late Imam Khomeini (RA) at the time of Islamic Revolution and said,” During the Islamic Revolution, Shia and Sunni have lived in full coexistence.”

Deputy of Kermanshah governor warned against separation of religion and politics and called the move a plan of the enemies and stressed,” Seminaries should assist the Islamic awakening of the region by boosting their insight,” the official said.

HujjatulIslam Dr Esmail Ghobadi, head of the Organization for Islamic Promotion in Kermanshah Province said the conference is 100th joint Shia-Sunni session held by this organization and said,” We are witnessing the blossoming of the world views created by the Islamic Republic of Iran in other countries,” and expressed hope that the movement, as proposed by the Leader Of Islamic Ummah And Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamanei, would spread to Europe.

Molla Ghader Ghaderi, Sunni Prayer Leader of Paveh city referred to the full coexistence between Shia and Sunni in the Province and said the martyrs of Iran-Iraq war are the proof for our loyalty towards the government.

“Role of the Islamic Revolution in awakening of the people was due to the Islamic tendency of the Iranian nation,” said the Sunni figure and added that,” The message of our Revolution was unity and confrontation with tyrants and today, three decades after the Revolution, we see that Shia and Sunni governments in the Middle East and North Africa have risen, trying to achieve victory by the mottos we used to shout in our Islamic Revolution.”

He referred to the recent awakening in the regional countries as the “Divine Breeze” and expressed his concerns that since the revolutions in the region do not have a deserving leader, they have the same ending as Algiers Revolution.
