Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani warned that enemies of the regional states have created and sponsored the terrorist groups, specially the ISIL, to safeguard the Zionist regime’s security.
“The influx of the terrorists into Iraq was a plot by the country’s enemies to fight the Iraqi people’s demand and will on one hand, and provide security for the Zionist regime on the other,” Shamkhani said in a meeting with Iraqi Parliament Speaker Salim al-Jabouri in Tehran on Wednesday.

“The treatment of the wounded members of the ISIL and al-Nusrah terrorist groups in the Zionist regime’s hospitals is a clear evidence to the (friendly) relations between the terrorists and Israel, which is a blatant violation of the UN Security Council resolutions,” he added.

Jabouri, for his part, underlined Iran’s important role in supporting democratic processes and establishment of security and stability in the region, and said the danger of ISIL should be obviated through regional partnership.

“This is the responsibility of all religions and tribes,” he added.

In relevant remarks in June, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces General Hassan Firouzabadi said Israel had created and supported the terrorist ISIL to ward off danger from its borders.

“The ISIL is Israel’s cover up for distancing the revolutionary forces from Israeli borders and creating a margin of security for the Zionists, and the Zionist media have also admitted this fact,” he added.

Firouzabadi emphasized the necessity for the Iraqi people’s unity and resistance, and said, “The only way for the Iraqi people to overcome this problem is unity, resistance and suppression of these modern-day ignorance (darkness) fighters.”
