Student killed in US University shooting

A student at South Carolina State University has died after being shot in an on-campus dormitory on Friday.

According to Press TV, the shooting incident happened on Friday afternoon in Orangeburg, about 120 km northwest of Charleston.

South Carolina State University spokeswoman Sonya Bennett initially said the campus was not on lockdown. But the school later sent out an alert saying the campus was locked down.

Police said they were looking for at least four individuals who left campus after the shooting and might be responsible. The victim was identified as 20-year-old Brandon Robinson.

The university is a historically black university with about 3,200 students.

Friday’s shooting is the second one this week on a college campus.
