Study: Way of walking can reveal hidden traits

The way people walk can speak volumes about their personalities. That’s according to a new study by researchers at the University of Portsmouth.

Using motion capture technology, the researchers found that a person’s walk can reveal certain personality traits. For instance, the study claims that the exaggerated movement of both the upper and lower body is an indicator for aggression.

Traits which help with social skills including agreeableness and extroversion are also said to be evident in people with increased pelvis movement. The researchers believe that the identification of such a relation between a person’s walk and aggression could provide a possible basis to prevent crime.
