Sudanese medical delegation arrives in Cairo en route to Gaza

A Sudanese Red Crescent delegation, comprising around 12 doctors and surgeons, arrived in Cairo on their way to Gaza to carry out urgent surgeries and to contribute in treating around 6,000 civilian casualties

The delegation, led by Professor Muhammad Said al-Khalifa, Cardiology consultant and Head of al-Azhari University, arrived in Cairo eight days ago.

Head of the delegation, Said al-Khalifa, said the move came in response to the appeals of the Palestinian Red Crescent to carry out emergency missions and urgent operations to thousands of Gazan civilians who have been left severely wounded in the ongoing Israeli offensive on Gaza.

Coordination contacts have been going on with the Egyptian and Sudanese concerned parties so as to ensure the entrance of the delegation to Gaza, the Professor stated.

Al-Khalifa called on the Egyptian concerned parties to expedite the necessary measures so as to ensure the envoy’s access into besieged Gaza Strip the soonest so as to assuage the pains of the Palestinian casualties.
