Supreme Leader’s Top Military Aide: Armed Struggle Only Strategy to Free Holy Quds

Top Military Aide to the Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi underlined that armed struggle is the only possible strategy to set the Holy Quds free.

“Muslims unity and continuation of Armed Jihad (struggle) and the Islamic resistance of the Palestinian nation constitute the only strategy for saving and liberating the Holy Quds,” Safavi said, addressing the ceremonies marking the International Quds Day in the Southern Bushehr province on Friday.

He noted that Israel has no control over the security of its citizens as it did before, and said that the Islamic Republic of Iran believes that a referendum should be held to determine the future of the occupied lands and all the indigenous population of Palestine, including Muslims, Christians and Jews, should be entitled cast their votes in that referendum.

The International Quds Day was started by the late Founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, in 1979 as a way of expressing solidarity with the Palestinians and underscoring importance of the holy Quds to Muslims.
International Quds Day is an annual event opposing Israel’s occupation of Beitul-Muqaddas.

Anti-Zionist rallies and demonstrations are held every year on the last Friday of Ramadan in Muslim and Arab countries around the world, and specially in Iran.
