Syria: Al-Nusra Withdraws from more Key Heights near Border with Turkey

The Syrian Army troops, backed up by the Russian fighter jets, beat back the al-Qaeda-affiliated al-Nusra Front and Ahrar al-Sham from strategic mountains Northeast of Lattakia and restored full security to the mountainous region.

The Takfiri terrorists left behind at least 43 fighters dead and many more wounded and pulled the remaining pockets of their forces back from Turkmen mountain under the heavy attacks of the Syrian soldiers and the Russian warplanes.

Reports said earlier today that hundreds of Jeish al-Fatah terrorists have crossed Turkey’s border into Northern Syria to join their comrades in the mountainous battlefields of the coastal province of Lattakia that has been the scene of government forces’ advances in the recent days.

“After significant advances of the Syrian army and its popular allies against the terrorist groups near the border with Turkey, Ankara paved the way for scores of the terrorists to enter Lattakia to join their comrades from Chechnya and Caucasus deployed in Turkmen mountain,” the sources said.
