The Syrian army also conducted major military operations in different parts of the country over last 24 hours.

Damascus

The Syrian Air Force carried out repeated combat flights over the positions of Al-Nusra Front in Eastern Ghouta, destroying five command posts of the terrorists.

The fighter jets targeted heavily the Al-Nusra’s positions in al-Qaboun district North-East of Damascus, leaving five main command posts of the terrorists destroyed and the militants inside them dead.

Dara’a

The Syrian Army troops, backed up by the country’s Air Force, warded off another massive attack of Al-Nusra Front (also known as Fatah al-Sham Front or the Levant Liberation Board) in the Southern city of Dara’a, killing over 75 terrorists, including senior commanders.

The army soldiers engaged in tough battle with Al-Nusra Front terrorists that had launched a large-scale attack on government forces’ positions in al-Manshiyeh neighborhood with six bomb-laden suicide vehicles, hundreds of explosive gas containers and missiles, killing over 75 terrorists, including suicide attackers and militants from Saudi Arabia and Jordan.

Several senior commanders, including Commander of Majd al-Islam Battalion Mohammad Abazeid nom de guerre Abu Moslem and Salim Mohammad Shatiwi, were among the terrorists killed in the battle.

Military sources said that simultaneous with the clashes between the army men and terrorists in Dara’a city, Khalkhaleh airbase went on red alert and several army aircraft carried out combat flights over the Al-Nusra’s defense lines and movements in al-Manshiyeh.

The sources, meantime, rejected reports alleging terrorists’ advances in al-Manshiyeh, saying the army had in some cases conducted tactical retreating, but now the army soldiers are carrying out counterattack and taking back lost positions.

Idlib

Media sources said that the Syrian Air Force in a crushing response to the US missile attack on Shayrat airbase in Southwestern Homs launched massive airstrikes on terrorists’ depot of US-made arms and ammunition in Idlib.

The Arabic language al-Hadath news website reported that as a first massive response to the Thursday missile strikes, the Syrian warplanes took off from Shayrat airbase and targeted a huge depot of American arms and munitions of the Al-Nusra Front in al-Qasaniyeh settlement in Jisr al-Shughour region in Southern Idlib, destroying the entire weapons stocked in there and killing a number of militants at and around the depot.

Well-informed sources in Northern Syrian reported earlier on Sunday that the Syrian Army troops have opened heavy fire at an American reconnaissance plane in Northern Hasaka, forcing the US plane to leave the country’s airspace.

The sources said that the intense fire of the special forces forced an American reconnaissance plane to leave the region after approaching the army troops’ positions in Qamishli border city.

Meanwhile, a military source confirmed the report, stressing that the US reconnaissance aircraft was flying over the Syrian Army Base in Qamishli and distanced itself from the region after it came under fire.

Hama

The Syrian Army’s military and missile units shelled the defense lines of the Al-Nusra Front in Northern Hama, destroying one of their main positions and killing a number of militants, including a commander.
