Syria in Last 24 Hours: Air Force Pounds Terrorists’ Positions in Hama, Inflicts Heavy Losses

The Syrian and Russian fighter jets pounded the positions and movements of the terrorists in the Northern and Western parts of Hama province, inflicting heavy losses on them.

The terrorists sustained heavy losses in the Syrian and Russian air raids in Hama province.

Meantime, the Syrian army continued its military advances in other parts of Syria over past 24 hours.

Tens of terrorists were killed and dozens more were injured during the Syrian army’s operations in provinces across Syria.

Hama

The Syrian and Russian fighter jets pounded the positions and movements of the Al-Nusra Front (Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at or the Levant Liberation Board) in Northern and Western parts of Hama province, inflicting tens of casualties on the militants, a Syrian media outlet reported on Sunday.

The Arabic-language al-Watan daily reported that the warplanes bombed Al-Nusra’s strongholds in the towns and villages of al-Latamina, Kafr Zita, Latmin, al-Arba’een and al-Zahah in Northern Hama.

The fighter jets further carried out bombardments against terrorists’ positions in a region between the villages of al-Howays and al-Huweija in al-Ghaab plain in Western Hama.

Local sources reported that tens of terrorists were killed and dozens more militants were wounded in the attacks that also inflicted major damage on terrorists’ vehicles and equipment.

Damascus

The Syrian Army troops launched an assault on a number of Al-Nusra-held districts in Eastern Ghouta and seized control over several key positions on Sunday, several media outlets reported.

The Syrian media outlets reported that the army has started an attack against the Al-Nusra Front terrorists in Harasta region.

They added that the army men, backed up by the artillery units, stormed terrorists’ positions in al-Ajmi neighborhood in Harasta and the farms near the town.

The sources said that the army started their operation from the direction of al-Zariqah, the Air Defense Battalion Base and Harazma region and seized control over several regions near the air-defense base.

The English-language website of the AMN said that the army has advanced against the terrorists in a region between Harazma and Tal (hill) Farzat, taking control over several points near the air-defense battalion base.

In the meantime, a military source pointed to the ongoing collapse of the terrorist front after the army men crossed the terrorists’ defense lines, including entanglements in al-Zariqah flank in Eastern Ghouta, adding that the terrorists are on retreat.

Also, the Arabic-language al-Hadath news reported the army’s advances against the terrorists in Eastern Ghouta, adding that the terrorist groups had fired 15 rockets at residential areas in al-Dhahiyah neighborhood in Damascus city earlier and the assault came in reprise.

Aleppo

The Syrian Army troops will soon enter the town of Manbij in Northern Aleppo after an agreement with the Kurds, a Russian media outlet reported on Sunday.

The Arabic-language website of Russia’s Sputnik news agency quoted a security source as saying that Damascus and the Kurds have agreed on the deployment of army troops in Manbij that is now under the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

It added that the Syrian soldiers will enter the town in coming days.

Manbij is said to be the next phase of the Turkish army operation against the Kurds in Northern Syria.

Meantime, the Turkish Army troops and Ankara-backed militants managed to capture three more villages in Northwestern Aleppo after heavy fighting with the Kurds, local sources reported on Sunday.

The sources said that the army men and allied militants continued Operation Olive Branch in Afrin region and captured the village of Donbali East of Rajou region and the villages of Hajinkali Foqani and Hajinkalin Tahtani South of the small town of Rajoiu.

The Turkish Army General Staff said in a statement on Saturday that a sum of 1,931 Kurdish militants have been killed or captured by the Turkish army men or Ankara-backed militants within the framework of Operation Olive Branch in Afrin region in Northwestern Aleppo that started on January 20.

Meantime, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) claimed earlier that a sum of 1,219 Turkish soldiers and allied militants have thus far been killed in the last 5 weeks of Ankara’s assault on the Kurds in Afrin region in Northwestern Aleppo.
