Syria in Last 24 Hours: Air Force Pounds Terrorists’ Positions in Northeastern Idlib

Syria’s National Defense Forces (NDF), deployed in the besieged towns of Fua’a and Kafraya, engaged in tough battle with the terrorists in the afternoon, the second such battle on Sunday after the morning raid by the militants was fended off by the NDF.

Meantime, the Syrian army continued its military advances in other parts of Syria over the past 24 hours.

Tens of terrorists were killed and dozens more were injured during the Syrian army’s operations in provinces across Syria.

Idlib

The Syrian Air Force struck terrorists’ positions and movements on Sunday after militants stormed the government-held towns of Fua’a and Kafraya in the Northeastern countryside of Idlib city twice on Sunday.

Syria’s National Defense Forces, deployed in the besieged towns of Fua’a and Kafraya, engaged in tough battle with the terrorists in the afternoon, the second such battle on Sunday after the morning raid by the militants was fended off by the NDF.

The NDF popular forces managed to repel terrorists’ attacks after destroying their vehicles and inflicting a number of casualties on invaders.

Also, the army aircraft carried out continued raids on terrorists’ positions and movements in Banish, Ram Hamdan and Brouma settlements near Fua’a and Kafraya.

On Sunday morning the NDF exchanged fire with Tahrir al-Sham and its allied militants that tried to prevail over the pro-government forces in Fua’a and Kafraya from Banish, Ram Hamdan and al-Sawaqiyeh regions.

The popular forces managed to inflict major losses on Tahrir al-Sham terrorists and fended off their attack.

Sweida

The Syrian Army sent a large volume of military equipment to Badiyeh (desert) of Sweida to hunt the remaining pockets of the ISIL terrorists on Sunday.

More soldiers and equipment have been dispatched by the army to Northwestern Sweida over last 24 hours to participate in military operation against the ISIL terrorists.

In the meantime, local sources reported fierce clashes between the army men and the terrorists in Badiyeh, adding that the army intends to lay siege on ISIL from four directions in a large region stretching from Ba’ar al-Na’ameh up to al-Kara’a covering an area as large as 600 sq-km.

The army men, also, purged Wadi Ar Ar region of ISIL and deployed only 15 km away from al-Kara’a region which is a strategic base for the ISIL.

Dara’a-Quneitra

The Syrian Army sent more troops and military hardware to the Southern part of the country on Sunday, preparing for massive operation against terrorists in Dara’a and Quneitra provinces.

The army dispatched a convoy, including ten military vehicles, to al-Bohouth region West of Tal Bazaq region in Northern Quneitra.

The army further forwarded its elite forces from Hajar al-Aswad in Southern Damascus to Quneitra.

The army has also deployed a large number of forces and a large volume of equipment in the town of Deir al-Adas 60 km North of Dara’a city, a field source said, adding that the army may start operation from two flanks of Deir al-Adas toward Tal al-Alaqiyat, Tal Antar and Kafr Nasij in Dara’a and towards Western regions in Sweida province.

The source further said that the Russian-Syrian delegation is attempting to persuade the militants to leave the positions in Dara’a.

In the meantime, the Russia-run Humeimim airbase in Western Syria underlined the Russian forces’ possible participation in military operation in Southern Syria.

Homs

Hundreds of families of those militants that had turned down the Damascus government’s reconciliation plan and left Central Syria for North have started returning to their regions in Homs province, field sources said on Sunday.

The sources said that hundreds of families of the militants that refused to join peace agreement with the Syrian Army and left Northern Homs and Southern Hama for terrorist-held regions in Northern Syria have called on government officials to pave the ground for their return to their regions in Homs and Hama.

The sources said that the militants’ families have been complaining about very bad condition of the camp in which they are living in Northern Syria.

The sources further said that Damascus officials have a plan to sent tens of buses to Northern Syria to bring back these families to Homs once again after Eid Fitr holidays (end of Ramadan).
