Syria in Last 24 Hours: Army Continues Mop-Up Operations Countrywide

The Syrian army continued hunting down the Takfiri terrorists across Syria, and razed down their strongholds and positions over the last 24 hours.

The army units carried out massive military operations in Aleppo, Homs, Damascus, Lattakia and Dara’a.

Aleppo

The Syrian army annihilated terrorists’ positions in several areas across the Northern Province of Aleppo on Thursday amid reports of Russian airstrikes hitting the militants’ gathering centers.

The army units destroyed terrorists’ vehicles and positions in Orum al-Kubra, al-Bab, al-Khalediyeh, Sharbaa, Rasm al-Kabir, Rasm al-Kama and Hreitan in Aleppo.

The news came as the Russian warplanes launched scores of airstrikes on militants’ positions in the villages of Harbal, Um al-Qura, Um Housh and Kafra in the Northern countryside of Aleppo.

The Syrian army also engaged in fierce clashes with militants in the al-Rashidin area in Aleppo and fired artillery shells at their positions in the area on Wednesday night.

Meantime, the “Syrian Democratic Forces” announced that it has gained control of a key village in the Northern Province of Aleppo in Syria on Thursday.

The “Syrian Democratic Forces” said its fighters have captured the village of al-Saharij in Aleppo province.

The group did not provide any further details on its operation.

The Syrian Democratic Forces is an alliance of Kurdish, Arab, Assyrians, Armenian and Turkmen militants seeks to expel ISIL from Syria.

Homs

The Syrian and Russian fighter jets launched new airstrikes on Takfiri terrorists’ strongholds in several areas across the Central Province of Homs.

Sources said that the Syrian and Russian jets pounded gathering centers, strongholds and command posts of Takfiri terrorists near the ancient city of Palmyra, Quaryatayn, Maheen, Hawareen, al-Sharifa, Ghunaiman, Rasm al-Tawil and al-Sawwaneh.

The airstrikes also hit the terrorists’ positions and command posts in Housh Abu Faraj, al-Hazm, Teir Maala, Talbiseh, Tafha, Ghziyla and al-Taiba-al-Sukhna road in the East of Palmyra.

The militants suffered heavy casualties in the air attacks.

Meantime, the Syrian army launched artillery attacks and airstrikes against Takfiri terrorists in Homs province on Thursday.

The Syrian army fired artillery shells on militants’ concentration centers in the West of Ghernata village in the Northern part of Homs, injuring several militants.

The army also clashed with the ISIL terrorists in the vicinity of Jazal oil field in the Eastern countryside of Homs.

The Syrian warplanes also targeted positions of militants in the ancient city of Palmyra and the village of al-Zaafarana in Homs.

Damascus

The Syrian army continued its anti-terrorism operations to fully secure the recently-captured military airport of Marj al-Sultan, and retook new areas in Damascus province.

Field sources said the Syrian forces targeted al-Nusra Front, Jeish al-Islam, al-Rahman brigades and other terrorist groups in Eastern Ghouta and continued to advanced in the vicinity of Marj al-Sultan Military Airport and Harasta farms.

The sources further said the Syrian troops took full control over new farms in the West of Marj al-Sultan military airport in Eastern Ghouta in Damascus countryside.

The army killed at least 14 militants and destroyed their vehicles and weapons in the clashes.

The Syrian government forces conducted special operations against Jeish al-Islam terrorists in Damascus province, killing scores of Takfiri militants, including two senior commanders.

The Syrian forces destroyed positions of Jeish al-Islam Takfiri terrorists, killing scores of militants, including two terrorist leaders, in Housh al-Dawahra village to the South of Douma city in Damascus countryside.

The army also destroyed gathering centers, weapons and military vehicles in the city of Douma.

The Syrian army thwarted a terrorist attack in Eastern Ghouta in Damascus province and killed a group of militants, including senior commanders.

The Syrian army targeted terrorists’ position in al-Nashabiya farms while the militants were gathering to launch an attack in Eastern Ghouta in Damascus countryside, field sources said.

The army killed Said Omar Khabia, aka al-Shabah (The Ghost), and four field commanders in the Syrian forces’ assault, the sources added.

A group of militants from “Ashbal Jaish al-Islam”, “Der’ Al-Asema Brigade”, “Ajnad al-Sham” and “Jaish al-Islam” were also killed in the army raid.

Two Saudi militants were identified among the dead terrorists.

Elsewhere, the Syrian army, backed by the country’s warplanes, destroyed positions and depots of terrorists from al-Rahman brigade in a key town in Damascus province.

Informed sources said that that the army destroyed positions of al-Rahman brigade in Zamalka town in Damascus countryside.

The army also killed five terrorists and injured 15 others in the attacks.

Militants’ depot was also destroyed in the army’s assaults.

Also, the Syrian army continued to advance against the foreign-backed Takfiri militants in the province of Damascus, leaving at least 16 terrorists dead and injured.

The Syrian army advanced in Harasta farms in the East of Nour al-Sham school towards al-Shukr mosque in Douma farms.

“At least 16 Takfiri terrorists were killed and injured by the Syrian army,” field sources said.

Militants’ weapons and arms were also destroyed.

Meantime, the Syrian army cut off the most important line of supply of the Takfiri militants between Darayya and al-Moadamyeh in Damascus province.

The army won control over 1 km of the supply route in the farms between Darayya and al-Moadamyeh, disconnecting the most important arms and logistical supply route used by the militants in the region.

The army also seized militants’ weapons and ammunition in the clashes.

The development came as the Syrian warplanes bombed militants’ fortifications and positions in the farms between Darayya and al-Moadamyeh.

Lattakia

The Syrian army and the National Defense Forces won back a strategic point in the Northern countryside of Lattakia after fierce clashes with the terrorists.

The Syrian forces managed to take full control over point 458.5 in the direction of al-Kabir Black Mountain in the Northern countryside of Lattakia on Wednesday after clashes with the terrorists, informed sources said.

A large group of terrorists were killed and injured in the clashes, the sources added.

Also, the Syrian army seized control over another region in Lattakia province on Thursday that is of much strategic value.

The Syrian army gained control of the height 489.5 after capturing Height 465.5 in al-Kabir Black Mountain in the Northern countryside of Lattakia.

The recapture of the height came after fierce clashes with the militants that left a large group of the terrorists dead and injured.

Height 489.5 is on the Eastern side of the town of Attira around 1.5 km away from the al-Saraf town, which is a major crossing leading to Jabal (mount) Zahia that is used by the terrorists.

Dara’a

The Syrian army engaged in fresh battles with the Takfiri militants in the province of Dara’a, and inflicted heavy losses on them.

Sporadic clashes erupted between the Syrian army and militant groups in the vicinity of al-Sheikh Maskeen city and Attman town in Dara’a.

The news came as the Syrian warplanes bombed militants’ positions in the al-Sheikh Maskeen city.

There are no immediate reports of possible casualties among the terrorists.
