Syria in Last 24 Hours: Army Inflicts Heavy Losses on Terrorists in Homs Province

 

The Syrian army hit hard the terrorists’ military positions and hardware in the Northern part of Homs province.

The terrorists in Homs province sustained heavy losses in tough battle with the Syrian army.

The Syrian army also continued its advances in other key provinces across Syria.

Homs

The Syrian Army’s artillery and missile units launched heavy shelling on terrorists’ positions in Northern Homs after the terrorists breached ceasefire in de-escalation zone and targeted residential areas in two villages, a military source said on Monday.

The sources said that the Al-Nusra’s missile units deployed in the town of Talbiseh in Northern Homs heavily shelled residential areas in the villages of al-Najmeh and al-Ashrafiyeh in Northeastern Homs.

The army soldiers in response engaged in heavy fighting with Al-Nusra (Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at or the Levant Liberation Board) and Ahrar al-Sham South of Talbish and East of al-Qantou, the sources said, adding that the army’s artillery and missile units retaliated and opened heavy fire at terrorists’ positions in Talbiseh and al-Qantou and their outskirts, in the village of al-Ameriyeh, in Abu Yasar farms and in Northern and Northeastern Homs.

The sources said that a number of terrorists were killed or wounded and their military equipment were destroyed in the clashes and by the army fire.

In the meantime, the army men targeted a group of terrorists that were digging trenches in Abu al-Anz Farms in Talbiseh and towards the village of al-Najmeh in Northern Homs, killing or injuring the entire members of the group.

A military source said on Tuesday that the terrorist groups’ snipers and machineguns deployed in Northern and Northwestern Homs targeted the army positions in Jabourin region, South of the town of Talbiseh, close to the town of al-Qantou and in Hawsh Hajo region for the third day in a row, violating the ceasefire in de-escalation zone.

The source said that the army men engaged in fierce clashes with the violators of the truce.

In the meantime, the artillery units opened heavy fire at terrorists’ positions in the battlefield, killing or wounding a number of terrorists and destroying their positions and equipment.

Idlib

The Syrian Army troops pushed the Al-Nusra Front back from more regions in Northeastern Hama on Monday and entered Idlib province for the first time over last three years.

The army men exchanged heavy fire with the Al-Nusra in Northeastern Hama and imposed control over the town of al-Mosheirefeh in Southern Idlib, entering the Northwestern province for the first time after three years.

Also, a field source confirmed that the army has entered Idlib province.

Relevant reports said that the army soldiers, backed up by the country’s Air Force and artillery fire, stormed the strongholds of the Al-Nusra in Northeastern Hama, and captured the small town of Baleel and Baleel hill in al-Zaqbah region.

The army men continued their advances and took control over the village of Um Khazim and Um Khazim hill in Southeastern Idlib at border with Hama.

The army aircraft, meantime, pounded terrorists’ movements and gathering centers in the towns and villages of al-Rahjan, Um Mayal and al-Shakousiyeh in Northeastern Hama, inflicting heavy casualties on the terrorists.

Deir Ezzur

The Syrian Army men drove ISIL out of 2,000 sq/km of territories in Southeastern Deir Ezzur, military sources confirmed on Monday.

The sources said that the army men stormed ISIL’s positions in Southeastern Deir Ezzur and freed a region as large as 2,000 sq/km extending from the village of al-Salehiyeh to al-Ma’eizeliyeh region, al-Ma’eizeliyeh Dam, the T2 Oil Pumping Station and the town of Albu Kamal.

The sources further said that the army units had already advanced 18 km against ISIL from the Northern direction of T2 Oil Pumping Station.

Military sources said on Friday that the army men, operating from South of the town of al-Mayadeen towards the town of Albu Kamal and from North of Albu Kamal towards al-Mayadeen, managed to join the town flanks and captured the entire villages and towns on the Western bank of the Euphrates River that were previously under ISIL’s control, the sources said, adding that with the recent advances the army soldiers managed to lay siege on ISIL trapped in a large desert region as large as 7,000 sq/km.

The sources further said that the army was in control of the entire regions on the Southern bank of the Euphrates River from Eastern Raqqa to Deir Ezzur city and Albu Kamal.

Damascus

Well-informed sources said on Monday that the Al-Nusra Front is on verge of full collapse following the rapid advances of the Syrian Army troops against the terrorist group in Southwestern Damascus.

The sources said that the army men continued to hit Al-Nusra’ positions after capturing the Bardaya mountains, adding that the artillery and missile units pounded the positions of the terrorists on Zahr al-Aswad hills South of Bardaya.

Also, the army soldiers engaged in heavy fighting with Al-Nusra in the region, inflicting major losses on the terrorists, the sources went on to say.

The Al-Nusra Front in the region is on threshold of full collapse after the recent advances of the army men in Southwestern Damascus, the sources said, adding that a large number of terrorists have left their arms and dead comrades behind and fled the battlefield towards al-Mughur al-Mir East of the Zahr al-Aswad hills.
