Syria in Last 24 Hours: Army Keeps Rolling on Terrorist Centers in Southern Damascus

 

ISIL’s positions in the Southern part of Damascus province were stormed by the Syrian Army troops, and the terrorist group lost more key points.

The army soldiers, backed up by the artillery and missile units, engaged in tough battle with the ISIL Northwest of Yarmouk Camp and captured several more buildings.

The army also drove the ISIL out of several buildings, including the Computer High School and Shafei Mosque Northwest of Hajar al-Aswad region.

Meantime, the Syrian army continued its military advances in other parts of Syria over the past 24 hours.

Tens of terrorists were killed and dozens more were injured during the Syrian army’s operations in provinces across Syria.

Damascus

The Syrian Army troops stormed the ISIL’s positions in the Southern part of Damascus province on Monday, imposing control over more key points.

The army soldiers, backed up by the artillery and missile units, engaged in tough battle with ISIL Northwest of Yarmouk Camp and captured several more buildings.

Also, other units of the army drove the ISIL out of several buildings, including the Computer High School and Shafei Mosque Northwest of Hajar al-Aswad region.

In the meantime, the army aircraft conducted a heavy strike on the positions of ISIL’s remaining pockets in Hajar al-Aswad and Yarmouk, inflicting major losses on the terrorists.

Earlier repots said that the army men found a network of tunnels under residential buildings in Hajar al-Aswad used by terrorists as hideout for moving arms and ammunition across the region.

The army soldiers, meantime, discovered a large volume of chemical and explosive materials for making bombs in terrorists’ positions in the region.

In the meantime, the army forces, backed up by artillery units and warplanes, managed to advance against terrorists in al-Zein neighborhood and reached al-Aroubeh street in al-Taqadom neighborhood after capturing several key points.

A field sources said that the army is about to drive a wedge between the remaining ISIL-held regions in Southern Damascus.

Hama

The Syrian Armed forces have been targeting terrorists’ positions in Northern Hama regularly to pave the ground for an imminent large-scale operation in the region, field sources reported on Monday.

The sources said that the army’s artillery and missile units as well as the Air Force have been pounding terrorists’ strongholds, headquarters and supply routes of the militants, to weaken their defense capabilities ahead of a large-scale operation by the government forces in Northern Hama.

The daily raids – conducted by Syrian and Russian jets – come as the army forces plan an all-out offensive in the terrorist-held territories after concluding the evacuation agreement in Northern Homs pocket.

Aleppo

Hossein Ali al-Chawish, a notorious Mufti (religious leader) of the terrorists, was gunned down by unknown attackers in Southwestern Aleppo on Monday.

Hossein Ali al-Chawish, Mufti of Horas al-Deen terrorist group, was killed by unknown gunmen near the village of Um Atabah in Southwestern Aleppo.

Local sources said that al-Chawish was assassinated by Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at (the Levant Liberation Board or the Al-Nusra Front) at Abu Atabah checkpoint.

Assassination of terrorist groups’ members and commanders has recently increased in spite of declaring ceasefire among rival militant groups in Northern Syria.

Homs

A sum of 3,500 militants and their family members will soon leave Northern Homs for Northern Syria under an evacuation agreement with the Syrian Army, well-informed sources reported on Monday.

The sources said that several buses have entered the town of al-Rastan in Northern Homs to transfer the terrorists that have rejected the government’s peace offer.

The sources further said that the first group of terrorists and their families, whose total number stands at 3,500, will soon leave Northern Homs for Northern Syria, adding that evacuation of terrorists will continue till next week.

In the meantime, Syria’s state news agency, SANA, reported that terrorists, deployed in Northern Homs and Southern Hama, have handed over a large volume of arms and ammunition to the army under the evacuation plan.

The terrorists have handed over 10 military and armored vehicles and a large volume of ammunition, including rockets, mortar shells and artillery shells to the army.
