Syria in Last 24 Hours: Army Makes Major Advances in Aleppo Countryside

The Syrian Army continued its advances in Aleppo countryside and took control of a number of villages and regions in the Northern province.

The army regained control of al-Wadihi, al-Mallah farms, al-Nairab, Handarat Camp, Abboutin, al-Lairamoun and al-Atareb regions in Aleppo.

Also in the past 24 hours, the Syrian army destroyed terrorists’ gathering centers in Quneitra province, killing tens of terrorists and injuring dozens more.

The army units also took back the village of al-Hamidiye in Quneitra countryside from the ISIL control.

Elsewhere, the Syrian Armed Forces, in their daily operations against rebels, captured several strongholds of the antigovernment fighters, killing and wounding so many of them.

Gathering centers of al-Nusra Front, al-Ansar battalions, Homat al-Aqeda Brigades, Osod al-Islam Brigades, al-Iman bellah battalion and al-Farouq brigades were targeted by the Syrian troops for several consecutive days in al-Rastan city, West al-Wa’ara village and Um Sharshouh in the Northern countryside of Homs province, which resulted in the killing and wounding of so many fighters.

The Syrian soldiers also killed a number of insurgents in Rajm al-Qasr, Rajm al-Aali, Abu Hawadeet, al-Mshairfa al-Shamalia and Um Sahreej.

Also in the Northwestern Idlib province, that has faced massive infiltration of international terrorists from Turkey in recent days, witnessed a series of operations by the Syrian Wrmy, who killed several militants, mainly form Al-Nusra Front.

Gathering centers of Al-Nusra Front and other terrorist groups in Idlib city, as well as Salqeen, Sarmin and Ma’artamasrin towns, were targeted by the Syrian soldiers, who apart from killing and wounding several terrorists, arrested several others.

Meantime, the Al-Nusra Front, affiliated to al-Qaeda terrorist group, has failed all the battles against the Syrian Army in the Southwestern province of Dara’a, and was fleeing to far and safer areas near Jordan’s borders, a military source said.

Aqraba and al-Noeima villages as well as al-Balad town are not safe anymore for the rebel groups, specially al-Nusra Front, due to strong presence of the Syrian troops whose massive operations in the abovementioned battlefield resulted in the killing and wounding of a large number of the militants, the source said.

Also, the Central Hama province has been the scene of heavy clashes between the foreign-backed militants and the Syrian Armed Forces, who have gained upper hand in all battlefields in the country’s central areas, an informed military source announced.

Rebels’ strongholds in different parts of Hama province, specially in al-Latamneh and the Eastern countryside of Salamiyeh, were massively targeted by the army men, and populace forces, winning the battles, have restore tranquility to the recaptured areas, the source said.

Syria has been grappling with a deadly crisis since March 2011. The violence fuelled by Takfiri groups has so far claimed the lives of over 210,000 people, according to reports. New figures show that over 76,000 people, including thousands of children, lost their lives in Syria last year.

Over 3.8 million Syrians have left their country since the beginning of the crisis. According to reports, more than seven million Syrians have become internally displaced.

The Takfiri terrorist group, with members from several western countries, controls swathes of land in Syria and Iraq, and has been carrying out horrific acts of violence such as public decapitations and crucifixions against all communities such as Shiites, Sunnis, Kurds and Christians.
