Syria in Last 24 Hours: Army Makes New Gains in Key Provinces

The Syrian army backed by the Arab country’s popular forces destroyed terrorists’ positions in Aleppo, Hama, Homs, Dara’a and Damascus provinces over the past 24 hours.

Dozens of terrorists were killed and many more were wounded in the Syrian army’s military operations across Syria on Saturday.

Aleppo

The Syrian army pounded the military positions of the Takfiri terrorists in Aleppo province, and killed a large number of Takfiri militants.

The army units hit ISIL’s positions in the town of Zorba in Aleppo countryside, killing tens of terrorists and injuring dozens more.

The Syrian army, meantime, hit the terrorists’ gathering centers in the towns of Tadef and Al-Bab in the Aleppo countryside.

Also, the Syrian army destroyed the Takfiri terrorists’ positions in the Aleppo countryside, and killed dozens of the militants.

The army units razed down the gathering centers of Al-Nusra Front militants in al-Miassar, Al-Ramosa, al-Amiriya, Salahuddin, Bustan al-Basha, Bani Zeid and al-Lairmoun neighborhoods in Aleppo countryside.

The Syrian troops also pounded the ISIL Takfiri terrorists’ military positions in Tal Mosayebin and the town of Izaz in the Northern countryside of the Aleppo city.

The Syrian artillery also hit the terrorists’ positions in in the towns of Deir Hafer and Khan Asal in the Aleppo countryside.

Hama

The Syrian army won control over a strategic village in the Eastern part of Hama province on Saturday.

The army backed by the National Defense Forces took control of Al-Ramliya village in al-Sathiyat region in Eastern Hama in heavy clashes with the militants of the Islamic Front.

Dozens of Takfiri terrorists were killed in clashes with the Syrian army and NDF as many more fled the scene of the battle.

Lattakia

The Syrian Army and its popular allies fended off a massive attack of the terrorist groups in the mountainous regions of Lattakia province near the border with Turkey, and killed scores of terrorists, including one of their notorious commanders, army said.

“Abdullah al-Rafi’a also known as Emir al-Aqtahameen, a notorious commander of Ahrar al-Shughour, was killed in the Syrian government forces’ massive offensive in the Jabal al-Qassab region,” the army said.

“In the meantime, the Syrian army’s artillery units shelled the militant groups’ strongholds in Taliyeh, Salma, Jabal al-Akrad and Jabal al-Turkmen in the Northern part of Lattakia province, which left many militants dead or wounded,” the army added.

Homs

The Syrian fighter jets’ attacks on the militant groups’ positions in the Northern part of Homs province claimed the lives of many terrorists, including one of their notorious commanders.

Abdullah Salibi, also known as Abu Jamal, and a number of his comrades were killed in the Syrian warplanes’ strikes in al-Taloul al-Hamr.

In the meantime, the Syrian Army’s artillery units opened fire at the militant groups’ gathering centers near the ancient city of Palmyra (Tadmur), al-Dar al-Kabira town and al-Houla region, which resulted in the mass destruction of the terrorists’ military hardware.

Dara’a

The Syrian Army’s artillery units on Saturday shelled the militant groups’ centers in the Northern part of Dara’a province along the old road to Damascus, inflicting major damage on the terrorists’ military equipment.

The militant groups’ concentration centers in Dael town were massively shelled by the Syrian artillery, which claimed the lives of many terrorists and destroyed their military equipment.

In the meantime, the Syrian army troops and their popular allies raided al-Nusra Front’s strongholds in Dara’a al-Mahatta and in the Eastern side of Balal Habashi mosque in Abbasiyeh in Dara’a al-Balad, which ended in the killing or wounding of many militants.

Damascus

The Syrian Army and its popular allies have pushed back the militant groups from more farms in the Eastern part of Damascus province, and are now hunting the remaining pockets of militants in captured territories, a popular forces’ commander said Saturday.

“The Syrian army troops and National Defense Forces (NDF) continue to drive back the terrorist groups from the farms in Marj al-Sultan region in Eastern Ghouta,” the commander said.

“The pro-government forces killed or wounded scores of the militants in their offensives and destroyed their military grid, he further added.

“The Syrian forces are advancing now towards al-Nashabiyah and Harasta al-Qantara,” the field commander said.

“The engineering units of our forces have started to defuse roadside mines to pave the way for the rapid advance of the ground forces,” he went on to say.

“The militants planted the mines before withdrawal,” the commander said.
