Syria in Last 24 Hours: Army Preempts Terrorists’ Offensive from Demilitarized Zone in Hama

The Damascus Army opened heavy fire at terrorists’ movements in the demilitarized zone in Northern Hama on Saturday, preempting their heavy offensive.

Deployed in the small town of Shaliout in Northern Hama, the army’s artillery units pounded the movements of Jeish al-Izzah that tried to prevail over the government forces’ positions from al-Zakat region and preempted their attack after inflicting major losses on the militants.

In the meantime, the army’s mortar units, deployed in regions near the village of al-Masasana, opened heavy fire at terrorists’ positions in the small town of al-Latamina, killing and wounding a number of them.

Meantime, the Syrian army continued its military advances in other parts of Syria over the past 24 hours.

Tens of terrorists were killed and dozens more were injured during the Syrian army’s operations in provinces across Syria.

Hama

The Syrian Army troops opened heavy fire at terrorists’ movements in the demilitarized zone in Northern Hama on Saturday, preempting their heavy offensive.

The terrorists’ refusal to implement the Sochi Agreement to establish a demilitarized zone is pushing the army to initiate its long-waited assault on militants in Idlib that had been put on hold due to the Sochi Agreement.

Aleppo

The Syrian Army has kept forces on high alert to respond to any possible military assault by the Turkish troops and allied militants on the town of Manbij in Northeastern Aleppo, field sources reported on Saturday.

The sources said that the Damascus forces, deployed in Manbij, are on alert to counter any attack by the Turkish soldiers and Ankara-backed militants.

The sources went on to say that the Army Command has ordered Presidential Guard Forces and other Damascus soldiers to give a crushing response to any military operation by the Ankara forces in Manbij region.

They further said that the Ankara forces have started preparing for a military operation in Manbij after the Syrian Army’s arrival in the region.

The sources quoted Ziad Hajji Obeid, Commander of the militants of Turkey-backed National Army, as saying that a sum of 15,000 militants from his group have prepared to enter Manbij, adding that almost 25,000 gunmen of the Ankara-backed Free Army have been preparing to enter the towns of Tal Abyadh and Ra’as al-Ein.

Hasaka

One of the notorious field commanders of the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in a town in Hasaka province has cut off relation with the militia amid the Turkish troops’ threats of a major assault against the Kurds in Northern and Northeastern Syria, a Lebanese media outlet reported on Saturday.

The Lebanese al-Manar TV Channel reported that a senior commander of the SDF gunmen has defected along with his fighters in the small town of al-Darbasiyah in Northern Hasaka amid the Ankara forces’ preparation for a large-scale operation on the Eastern bank of the Euphrates River.

It further said that the SDF has put forces on alert after the commander’s defection.

In the meantime, the SDF militias have dug long tunnels in the village of al-Doweirah South of Ra’as al-Ein near Syria’s border with Iraq, the TV channel said, adding that the Turkish reconnaissance planes, meantime, are flying over SDF-held regions in the town Tal Abyadh in Northern Raqqa at the border with Turkey.

Idlib

A high-ranking Jordanian commander of Horras al-Deen terrorists has been killed by unknown attackers in the Northwestern province on Idlib, a Lebanese TV Channel reported on Saturday.

Iyad al-Toubasi nom de guerre Abu Jalibib Ordoni, a notorious Jordanian commander of Horras al-Deen, has been killed by unknown raiders while escaping from Idlib province, al-Manar reported, adding that he once was commander of Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at (the Levant Liberation Board or the Al-Nusra Front) terrorists in Southern Syria.

In the meantime, field sources reported that a fresh wave of tension has erupted between the terrorists of Tahrir al-Sham and the National Liberation Front in Idlib.

The sources said that the tension came after 5 terrorists of Tahrir al-Sham were killed in an attack on their base in the small town of Tal Adah in Northern Idlib, adding that Tahrir al-Sham has dispatched a large military convoy to regions near the town of Dar al-Izzah in Western Aleppo.

The sources went on to say that Tahrir al-Sham has accused Nouralddeen al-Zinki, affiliated to the National Liberation Front, of planning a heavy attack on their bases in Dar al-Izzah.
