Syria in Last 24 Hours: Army Purges Terrorists from More Regions in Hama Province

 

The Syrian army continued its military operations in the Northeastern part of Hama province and forced terrorists to retreat from more key regions.

The army units also pushed back terrorists from the villages of Tam al-Hawa and Abu Lefeh in Northeastern Hama.

The Syrian troops killed tens of terrorists and injured dozens more in fierce clashes over controlling of strategic regions. They also destroyed military equipment of the terrorists.

The Syrian army also continued its advances in other key provinces across Syria.

Hama

The Syrian Army troops launched an operation in Northeastern Hama on Saturday, forcing the Al-Nusra Front (Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at or the Levant Liberation Board) to retreat from two more regions.

The army men pushed Al-Nusra back from the villages of Tam al-Hawa and Abu Lefeh Northwest of Ithriya.

The Al-Nusra suffered heavy casualties in the attack.

Deir Ezzur

A notorious field commander of the ISIL has escaped battlefield in the Eastern province of Deir Ezzur towards the regions that are under the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), local sources confirmed on Saturday.

The sources reported that Mohammad al-Shahada, a field commander of the ISIL, escaped battlefields in Deir Ezzur towards the SDF-held regions following rapid advances of the Syrian Army troops in the region.

In the meantime, the army men, backed up by the Syrian Air Force, managed to advance from their positions in the small town of Mahkan Southeast of Deir Ezzur towards the key town of Albu Kamal at the border with Iraq, capturing several positions.

The army soldiers killed or wounded a number of terrorists and destroyed their military and bomb-laden vehicles in their advances.

Dara’a

Two senior commanders of the terrorist groups affiliated to the Free Syrian Army (FSA) were killed in two assassination attempts in the Southern province of Dara’a, militant-affiliated websites disclosed on Saturday.

The websites reported that Ehsan Awaz Hawshan, one of the commanders of the FSA-affiliated Shabab al-Shona, was killed in a bomb blast in the town of Seida in Dara’a province.

In the meantime, Nasar al-Za’abi, a commander of Jeish al-Thora, was killed by unknown attackers’ gun fire in the town of al-Yadoudeh in Dara’a province.

Idlib

Abu Abdulrahman al-Mohajer, a notorious commander of Al-Nusra Front was killed in a gun attack on his vehicle in Southern Idlib, militant-affiliated websites reported on Saturday.

The websites disclosed that unknown attackers opened fire at the vehicle of Abu Abdulrahman al-Mohajer in the town of Khan Sheikhoun in Southern Idlib, killing him.

In the meantime, Jamal Zeiniyeh nom the guerre Arava Jamal Zeiniyeh, the son of Abu Malik Tali, a former commander of Al-Nusra in Qalamoun al-Qarbi was killed by unknown attackers.

Homs

The Russian Defense Ministry announced in its latest report on Saturday that militants in more regions have surrendered to the Syrian Army and joined peace agreement with Damascus.

The Russian ministry’s report said that gunmen in the town of Kafr Laha in Homs province handed over their weapons to the relevant authorities and joined peace with the army, adding, “The total number of regions, towns and villages that have thus far joined reconciliation plan across the country stands at 2,260.”
