The Syrian army soldiers repelled terrorists’ attack on their positions in Homs province after hours of clashes, inflicting major losses on them.

The ISIL terrorists’ attacks to capture the government forces’ positions East of Deir Ezzur were fended off by the strong defense of the Syrian military men.

Meantime, the Syrian army and popular forces continued their military advances in other parts of Syria, including Deir Ezzur, over the past 24 hours.

Tens of terrorists were killed and dozens more were injured during the Syrian army’s operations in other provinces across Syria.

Homs

The Syrian soldiers repelled several ISIL attacks against their military positions in the Eastern parts of Homs, inflicting heavy casualties and damage on the terrorists.

The army troops on Wednesday engaged in fierce clashes with ISIL militants who had attacked one of their military points near Shoumeriyeh mountain in Eastern Homs with a bomb-laden car, warding off their offensive after smashing the car and killing and wounding a large number of terrorists.

Other units of the army also clashed with ISIL members who had attacked the military points near the village of Maksar al-Hessan, al-Hawa hills and the town of Job al-Jarah in Eastern Homs, repulsing their offensive after killing most of the militants.

The Syrian army soldiers continued military operations in Eastern Homs towards Deir Ezzur, extending the range of their advances and tightening the noose on ISIL in the town of al-Sukhnah.

The army forces, supported by heavy air and artillery attacks, continued clashes with ISIL members in Eastern Homs, winning back control of Jabal al-Tantour mountain in the Western parts of al-Sukhnah and entering several farms near the town.

The Syrian soldiers also could regain control of several buildings in the Southwestern parts of al-Sukhnah.

Meantime, the Syrian and Russian air forces pounded the ISIL terrorists’ positions and moves in al-Sukhnah and the nearby areas, smashing several of them.

Deir Ezzur

The Syrian air force launched heavy airstrikes on ISIL bases in the village of Hamimeh Southwest of the town of al-Bu Kamal and near the borders between Raqqa and Deir Ezzur, blowing up several military vehicles and leaving a number of terrorists dead and wounded.

Also, a number of ISIL commanders, including the terrorist group’s supervisor in the region, were killed after clashes with people in Deir Ezzur.

Local sources in Eastern Deir Ezzur reported on Thursday that a group of residents of al-Souseh district near the town of Albu Kamal attacked the office of the supervising commander, killing him and destroying the base completely.

Also, people attacked one of the vehicles carrying a number of ISIL commanders and killed several of them, including Abu Safiyeh al-Kondari and Faisal al-Shamri.

Meantime, internal clashes among the ISIL terrorists in al-Maharim district in al-Mayadeen city in Southeastern Deir Ezzur wounded several militants.

Raqqa

The Syrian army and the Kurdish forces have established a joint operations room for further coordination in their anti-terrorism fight in Raqqa and Deir Ezzur, Arab media reported.

According to al-Akhbar newspaper, the operations room has already started its missions.

A field source said that the details of such an agreement to set up the operations room will be announced by the Syrian officials in due time.

Rizan Haddou, a Kurdish politician, underlined talks between the Syrian government and the Kurdish forces, and said, “This will leave a positive effect on military coordination in several pivots and we will witness an astonishing advance in driving out the ISIL from Raqqa and breaking the siege on Deir Ezzur.”

According to al-Akhbar, different issues have helped the agreement, including Turkey’s recent tensions in Afrin and the differences between the US and the Kurds on al-Tanf crossing.

Aleppo

Clashes between the predominately Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and terrorists affiliated to the Turkish army in Northern Aleppo led to the destruction of one of the bases of the latter group in the region.

According to the Kurdish-language Hawar news, the Turkish army and its affiliated groups stationed in the village of Kaljabrin and the town of Mare’a targeted the positions of Kurdish forces in the village of Shiekh Issa and the town of Tal Rafat by artillery and mortar fire on Thursday.
