Syria in Last 24 Hours: Army Repels Terrorist Attack on Sweida Province

Reports coming from Syria said the army still continues standing strong against terrorists’ attacks in Sweida province and pushed back another massive raid by the militants.
The army units thwarted an attempt by the terrorists to attack Zalfa and Abu Harat regions in the Northern parts of Sweida province, FNA dispatches from the province said.

The Syrian troops destroyed the terrorists’ strongholds and their vehicles equipped with heavy machine guns.

Also in the past 24 hours, the Syrian commandoes stormed the ISIL terrorists’ strongholds in the country’s Northeastern Hasaka province, killing and wounding a large group of the militants.

The ISIL terrorists’ centers in the villages of al-Uja, Tal Shameram, al-Agbeesh, Tal Hormuz, Tal Rumman, Tal Nasra and al Hawoz were targeted by the army special forces who killed and wounded so many terrorists, and exploded a large depot of their ammunition.

Also, a military source announced that the Syrian Army has won all the battles in the two strategic province of Aleppo, killing so many antigovernment fighters, arresting some others.

Syrian troops pushed backed rebels, who tried to infiltrate in the city of Aleppo from

Bab al-Nasser and Bab al-Hadeed areas, killing and wounding scores of them, arresting several others, the source said.

A long convoy of rebels’ vehicles loaded with weapons and ammunitions were targeted by the army in the villages of Ghammam, al-Qantara, al-Forloq, al- Kabeer, al-Sooda and al-Oteira, which resulted in the killing and wounding of so many rebels.

Scores of terrorists killed and wounded in the Syrian army’s operations against the al-Nusra Front’s strongholds in the Idlib’s outskirts, a military source said

Maarat Misrin town was the scene of heavy clashed between the Syrian soldiers and rebels who left so many killed an injured behind and fled to safer areas.

The village of Kafer Lata was also a new battlefront where army men killed and wounded a large number of the foreign-backed fighters.

Elsewhere, the Syrian army continued its mop-up operations against the foreign-backed militants in many areas across Homs, inflicting heavy losses on them.

The Syrian armed forces killed a number of terrorists and injured others in Khirbet Beit al-Agha village in Homs province near the Lebanese border.

The operation in the village, which is located in Southwestern Hassia town, also resulted in destroying the terrorists’ weapons and ammunition.

Great losses were also inflicted upon members of the ISIL terrorists during operations against their gatherings in al- Fasdeh and al-Kadeem villages and to the East of Jazal oil field in Northwestern Palmyra city.

Meantime, the Syrian army staged massive attacks against the militants’ gathering centers in al-Quneitra and Dara’a provinces, killing and wounding so many antigovernment fighters.

In the Southwestern province of al-Quneitra, the Syrian soldiers killed a number of terrorists in al-Hamidiyeh village, which is located in an archeological area.

Meantime, the Syrian soldiers killed and injured scores of insurgents in a number of areas in Daraa al-Balad and Ataman.

A military source said the operations resulted in killing large numbers of rebels and destroying a number of their vehicles.

Elsewhere, the Syrian armed forces gained upper hand against the militant groups in the Central Hama province, killing, wounding, and arresting a large number of them.

Syrian armed forces launched Thursday intensive operations against the gatherings of terrorists in the countryside of Hama province, killing a number of terrorists and injuring others.

Al-Ankawi village in the Northwestern countryside of Hama province, was the scene heavy clashes between the army men and insurgents which resulted in the killing of so many militants who fled the battlefields.

In the Northern countryside of Hama province, where army carries out continued operations against the rebels in villages near Idlib province, a number of terrorists from al-Nusra Front and the so called Ahrar al-Sham movement were killed in Skeek village in the surrounding of al-Latamneh and Kafar Zeta towns, according to the military source.

Meantime, a group of 14 Palestinian factions backed a joint military operation with the Syrian government to expel the ISIL militants from the Yarmouk refugee camp in Southern Damascus.

The factions support “a security solution that will be carried out in partnership with the Syrian state,” Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) official Ahmed Majdalani said.

In early April the ISIL was reported to be in control of a “large part” of the camp after fighting with Palestinian groups also opposed to President Bashar Assad’s forces.

Yarmouk was once a home to 160,000 Palestinian refugees and Syrians.

Syria has been grappling with a deadly crisis since March 2011. The violence fuelled by Takfiri groups has so far claimed the lives of over 210,000 people, according to reports. New figures show that over 76,000 people, including thousands of children, lost their lives in Syria last year.

Over 3.8 million Syrians have left their country since the beginning of the crisis. According to reports, more than seven million Syrians have become internally displaced.

An international peace conference on Syria, dubbed Geneva-2, organized by Russia and the United States and designed to negotiate a solution to the Syrian crisis, held in January and February 2014, brought no particular progress.
