Syria in Last 24 Hours: Army Repels Terrorists’ Fresh Attack in Demilitarized Zone in Northern Hama

The Damascus Army’s artillery units opened heavy fire at a group of terrorists and prevented them from prevailing over government forces’ positions in the demilitarized zone in Northern Hama over the past 24 hours.

The artillery and missile units pounded the movements of Kata’eb al-Izzah terrorists Southeast of the small town of al-Latamina in Northern Hama, killing and wounding a number of militants and warding off their offensive.

Meantime, the Syrian army continued its military advances in other parts of Syria over the past 24 hours.

Tens of terrorists were killed and dozens more were injured during the Syrian army’s operations in provinces across Syria.

Hama

The Syrian Army’s artillery units opened heavy fire at a group of terrorists and prevented them from prevailing over government forces’ positions in the demilitarized zone in Northern Hama on Sunday.

The artillery and missile units pounded the movements of Kata’eb al-Izzah terrorists Southeast of the small town of al-Latamina in Northern Hama, killing and wounding a number of militants and fending off their offensive.

In the meantime, Syria’s al-Watan daily reported that terrorists affiliated to Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at (the Levant Liberation Board or the Al-Nusra Front) launched missile attack on the army in Jourin and al-Mashari’a regions in Western al-Ghaab Plain.

It further said that the army, in response, pounded terrorists’ movements and positions in al-Ziyarah and Zizoun in Western al-Ghaab Plain, inflicting major losses on the terrorists.

Meanwhile, the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) pointed to the attacks by Horas al-Deen terrorists on the army in Lattakia province and al-Ghaab Plain, and said that the army’s strongholds in Kabani region in Northwestern Hama near the demilitarized zone came under terrorists’ fire.

Aleppo

Ankara-backed terrorists engaged in fresh round of clashes in the towns of Azaz and Afrin in Northern and Northwestern Aleppo on Sunday.

Gunmen of Liwa al-Shamal and their rival terrorists known as Police Forces, both backed up by the Turkish army, engaged in heavy fighting in the town of Azaz in Northern Aleppo.

The infighting came after the Police Forces arrested 2 Liwa al-Shamal militants.

The infighting inflicted several casualties on both sides.

Local sources, meantime, said that al-Shamiyah Front sent its gunmen from Afrin to Azaz following the infighting.

Other sources in Afrin reported that militants of Sultan Murad clashed fiercely with other rival militants in the village of Kafr Janah in Afrin, adding that several terrorists were killed and at least 10 more were wounded in the infighting between the two Ankara-backed militant groups.

Damascus

Tens of Faylaq al-Rahman terrorists who were forced to move to Northwestern Syria from the Damascus suburbs of Eastern Gouta earlier this year joined Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at to counter the Syrian Army units in Northeastern Lattakia on Sunday.

A 300-member battalion of Faylaq al-Rahman terrorist group that were expelled from Eastern Ghouta after sustaining a heavy defeat in the battle against the Syrian army have joined Tahrir al-Sham along with their military equipment to counter the army units in Lattakia province.

Faylaq al-Rahman militants will join Tahrir al-Sham’s elite gunmen in Northeastern Lattakia to face the army.

Several weeks after the conclusion of the Sochi Agreement to create a demilitarized zone in Northern and Northwestern Syria, the terrorist groups have not only avoided a retreat, but also reinvigorated their positions in the region.
