Syria in Last 24 Hours: ISIL Fails to Prevail over Syrian Army’s Positions in Badiyeh of Homs

The Damascus Army, backed up by the Syrian Air Force, repelled a heavy offensive of the ISIL in Badiyeh (desert) of Homs, inflicting major losses on the terrorists on Tuesday.

The army men engaged in a tough battle with the ISIL who tried to break through the government forces’ positions at T2 Oil Pumping Station in Southwestern Deir Ezzur from Badiyeh of Homs.

Meantime, the Syrian army continued its military advances in other parts of Syria over past 24 hours.

Tens of terrorists were killed and dozens more were injured during the Syrian army’s operations in provinces across Syria.

Homs

The Syrian Army troops, backed up by the country’s Air Force, repelled a heavy offensive of ISIL in Badiyeh of Homs, inflicting major losses on the terrorists on Tuesday.

The army men engaged in a tough battle with ISIL who tried to break through the government forces’ positions at T2 Oil Pumping Station in Southwestern Deir Ezzur from Badiyeh of Homs.

Also, the army aircraft carried out several bombing raids on ISIL’s positions and movements in the Eastern Badiyeh of the town of al-Sukhnah, inflicting major losses on the terrorists.

ISIL has reportedly retreated from the battlefield, leaving behind a number of dead and damaged equipment.

Dara’a

The Syrian Army troops, deployed in Dara’a province, received a long convoy of military hardware that had left Russia-run Humeimim Airbase in Lattakia province for Southern battlefields.

The Russian forces dispatched a large convoy of military equipment from Humeimim airbase to the Syrian Army’s positions in Dara’a province via the international highway along the coast towards Damascus and the Southern part of the country.

The convoy included tens of military vehicles and a large volume of arms and ammunition.

The convoy was dispatched to the Southern battlefields to provide logistical support for the army in Dara’a.

A military source reported earlier on Tuesday that the army men continued to storm terrorists’ positions in Western Dara’a and arrived at the entrance of Tafas township.

Also, the army’s artillery and missile units opened heavy fire at terrorists’ movements in Seida and al-Tayibah townships, inflicting major losses on the militants, the source added.

In the meantime, other units of the army restored security to al-Moseirefeh township in Eastern Dara’a, the source further said.

The source went on to say that the army has tightened noose on the terrorists West of Dara’a, adding that the army has gained control over 58 percent of territory in Dara’a province.

Commander of Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at (the Levant Liberation Board or the Al-Nusra Front) in Dara’a Abu Jaber al-Shami announced that his fighters will never quit battle with the army in the Southern province.

Idlib

The Syrian and Russian fighter jets carried out a number combat sorties in Northern Hama and Southern Idlib, bombing heavily terrorists’ movements in the region on Tuesday, a media source reported.

The Arabic-language website of Sputnik reported that the warplanes staged a heavy bombing on terrorists’ movements amid a heavy offensive of Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at and the terrorists of Horas al-Din against the government forces’ positions in Souran township in Northern Hama.

It said that the warplanes further struck terrorists’ positions in the villages and towns of Skeik, al-Tamana, Ma’arkaba and Lahaya in Northern Hama and Southern Idlib, weakening the combat and supplying capacities of the terrorists in al-Latamina region.

The report went on to say that the army later dispatched more troops to the battlefield and gained back lost lands from terrorists in Souran region.

At least 35 terrorists were killed or wounded in the failed attack of the terrorists and in the bombardments.

Several terrorist groups, including Jeish al-Izzah, Horas al-Din and Tahrir al-Sham are operating in Northern Hama regardless of the presence of Turkish troops’ monitoring points.

Earlier on Tuesday, the army men engaged in fierce clashes with the non-Syrian terrorists of Horas al-Din and Tahrir al-Sham that had attacked Tal Bazam region North of the town of Souran in Northern Hama and repelled their offensive.

Also, the army’s artillery and missile units pounded terrorists’ movements in Souran and near the town of Morek in Northern Hama and in Khan Sheikhoun in Southern Idlib, inflicting major losses on the terrorists.

The terrorists used suicide attackers in their offensive against the army in Northern Hama, but the army killed a large number of terrorists and forced the remaining of them to retreat.

The terrorists’ attack on the army in Northern Hama was aimed at disturbing the army’s concentration on its operation in Southern Syria.

Deir Ezzur

A notorious commander of a militant group affiliated to the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) was killed by unknown assailants near a village in the Eastern province of Deir Ezzur on Tuesday.

Khalaf Turki al-Khabil, one of the key field commanders of the SDF-affiliated Deir Ezzur Military Council, was killed after unidentified gunmen opened fire at his vehicle near the village of al-Takihi in al-Atal region.

Tensions also rose between civilians and the SDF in Northern Syria after a number of offensive moves by the US-backed militias.

A number of SDF members were killed or wounded in the clashes with civilians near al-Kashisheh township on Monday.

Hama

The Syrian Army troops fended off a heavy attack by Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at in Northern Hama that was believed to have aimed at disturbing government forces’ concentration on their large-scale operation in Southern Syria.

The army men engaged in fierce clashes with the non-Syrian terrorists of Horas al-Din and Tahrir al-Sham that had attacked Tal Bazam region North of the town of Souran in Northern Hama and repelled their offensive.

Also, the army’s artillery and missile units pounded terrorists’ movements in Souran and near the town of Morek in Northern Hama and in Khan Sheikhoun in Southern Idlib, inflicting major losses on the terrorists.
