The Syrian army and popular forces continued their military operations against the terrorist groups in Deir Ezzur province, and killed scores of militants over the past 24 hours.

Over 75 ISIL militants were killed in the Syrian army’s ambush in Deir Ezzur.

The Syrian army also inflicted heavy losses on the terrorist groups in other key province across Syria.

Deir Ezzur

The Syrian army’s ambush operation against an ISIL gathering center in the Eastern province of Deir Ezzur killed tens of terrorists, including their Tajik commander.

75 ISIL members were killed and many more were wounded after a column of the terrorists found themselves in an ambush operation of the government forces in Deir Ezzur province.

A field source said that a Syrian army unit, in cooperation with the engineering units, ambushed against the ISIL in a street in al-Sina’ah neighborhood in Deir Ezzur city and surprised them with landmines and bombs traps in the street.

At least 75 Takfiri terrorists were killed and tens of others wounded, including foreign militants, in the bomb blasts, according to the source.

The source added that a senior ISIL commander who had jointed the terrorist group from Tajikistan was also among the dead.

The ambush also destroyed the terrorists’ arms, equipment and cannons.

After the ambush, the Syrian forces and their allies could retook al-Sina’ah from the ISIL which had captured the city on Wednesday.

Meantime, the Syrian army backed by the National Defense Forces (NDF) retook the strategic region of al-Sina’ah in Deir Ezzur from the ISIL after a series of fierce clashes with the militants.

The ISIL had captured al-Sina’ah on Wednesday but the army and its allies’ rapid reaction led to the liberation of the region again.

Field sources said that during the clashes on Thursday, several ISIL militants were killed and wounded and their military vehicles and equipment were destroyed.

Damascus

The Syrian Army troops and the NDF launched joint offensives against the ISIL strongholds in Damascus, killing tens of terrorists.

The Syrian forces launched several attacks in Be’r al-Ghasab region this morning, striking the terrorist groups’ positions and destroying their machinegun-equipped vehicles.

According to a military source in Damascus, the Syrian forces killed 20 ISIL militants in the region.

Homs

The Syrian air force dropped leaflets reading “Surrender Now” over the militant groups across the Central province of Homs on Thursday to give the Takfiri terrorists a last chance to lay down their arms and surrender to the authorities.

The Syrian aircrafts dropped thousands of leaflets over the terrorist groups’ strongholds in different towns and villages of Homs province reading “surrender now; you have nowhere to go”.

The leaflets were dropped after the Syrian Army aircraft carried out several combat sorties over ISIL strongholds in the Eastern part of Homs province, including the surroundings of the recently-liberated city of Palmyra (Tadmur) and inflicted major losses on the terrorists.

The ISIL strongholds in the Southern and Northern sides of al-Shindakhiyeh and al-Sawanaa in the Eastern part of Homs province were heavily bombed by the Syrian air fleets.

The Syrian jets also hit the ISIL convoy of vehicles in the Northern and Southern sides of Palmyra, which ended in the destruction of several vehicles, including machinegun-equipped ones, and the killing or wounding of tens of the terrorists.

Dara’a

The terrorists of al-Nusra Front suffered a heavy death toll in a failed attack on the government forces’ positions in Dara’a al-Balad neighborhood of the Southern city of Dara’a, city sources announced.

Syrian soldiers thwarted an attack by al-Nusra Takfiri terrorists on a military post on the Southern outskirts of al-Menshiyeh neighborhood in Dara’a al-Balad area, the sources said.

The army unit clashed with the Takfiri terrorists who had infiltrated into the nearby areas of the military post, killing and injuring at least 14 of them, they added.

During the ambush, several weapons and ammunition belonging to the terrorists were also destroyed before the militants fled the scene, the sources stated.

Idlib

A senior ringleader of the so-called Free Syrian Army (FSA) terrorist group in the Northwestern province of Idlib was killed by unknown assailants, local sources said.

“The FSA 1st Coastal Division commander, Uday Al-Tubq, was assassinated by unknown gunmen in Jisr al-Shughur city in Idlib province,” local sources said.

According to the sources, Uday may be the victim of internal conflicts among the terrorist groups deployed in Idlib.

In a relevant development in Idlib, the Syrian fighter jets, in several combat flights, traced and targeted one of the main lines of supply of the terrorist groups between Southwestern Aleppo and Southeastern Idlib, inflicting major losses on the convoys on the road.

A road connecting Saraqib in Idlib to Khan Touman in Aleppo was heavy bombed by the Syrian warplanes.

The terrorist groups’ column of military and logistic vehicles sustained major damage in the air attacks.

The road was used by the terrorists of al-Nusra Front, Ahrar al-Sham, Ajnad al-Sham and Faylaq al-Rahman and its blockage will result in the shortage of ammunition, medical equipment and foodstuff in militant-held territories.
