Syria in Last 24 Hours: Terrorists Sustain Heavy Losses in Army Offensives in Aleppo

The Syrian army and popular forces continued their military operations against the terrorist groups in Aleppo province, and inflicted heavy losses on them over the past 24 hours.

The Syrian army killed and wounded scores of the ISIL militants in Aleppo.

The terrorist groups also sustained heavy casualties in other key provinces across Syria.

Aleppo

The Syrian army continued advancing around Aleppo city, and started boosting the security conditions around the cement factory region after taking full control over the factory.

The army units managed to seize back the cement factory in the Southern countryside of Aleppo city earlier on Tuesday, and are now purging the terrorists from the surrounding areas of the factory.

The Syrian army is boosting the cement factory’s security in a bid to block any attempt by the terrorists to launch fresh attacks from al-Sheikh Saeed region.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Jeish al-Fatah terrorists acknowledged that they had lost a major portion of the cement factory in Southern Aleppo countryside.

The Syrian army has recaptured vast areas in the Southern countryside of Aleppo City, Jeish al-Fatah terrorists confirmed.

Hundreds of Jeish al-Fatah terrorists launched heavy attacks against the Syrian army’s positions on Sunday evening.

The terrorists started their military operations against the government forces by firing rockets and mortars on their positions and then they resorted to suicide attacks.

“The Syrian army took the initiative from Jeish al-Fatah after receiving reinforcement and help from the popular forces,” the Arabic-language media quoted a Jeish al-Fatah terrorist named Mostafa Soleiman a saying.

Also on Tuesday, Ahrar al-Sham terrorists acknowledged that many of them, including their chief armor commander, have been killed in tough battle with the Syrian army.

Seifollah, commander of Ahrar al-Sham’s convoy of tanks and armored vehicles, was killed in the army’s counteroffensive in Northwestern and Western Aleppo on Monday.

The confession by Ahrar al-Sham comes after Seifollah’s death surfaced various media outlets on Monday.

Other terrorist groups have made similar confessions on their social network pages.

Meantime, the Syrian army and Hezbollah resistance forces launched fresh military operations to seize back a strategic region near the city of Aleppo.

The army and resistance forces attacked the terrorists’ military positions near Project 1070 to take back the entire building complexes of the project.

Meanwhile, the Russian air force conducted several airstrikes on Jeish al-Fatah’s military positions in the Al-Ramousiyeh District and Artillery Academy in the countryside of Aleppo city.

The Syrian air force also carried out concentrated strikes against gatherings and positions of the terrorists to the South and the West of Aleppo and destroyed a number of the armored and machinegun-equipped vehicles of the terrorists loaded with ammunition, killing scores of terrorists in the surrounding areas of the military academy buildings, Kafar Hamra, Khan al-Asal, Ma’rata, Khan Touman and Talat Bazo.

In a relevant development earlier on Tuesday, the Syrian army repulsed the terrorists’ attacks on the Northern and Southern parts of the city of Aleppo, killing scores of terrorists, battlefield sources disclosed.

The terrorists have fled towards the town of Kafar Hama to the North and Khan Touman to the South after being defeated, the Arabic-language media outlets quoted an unnamed military source as saying.

The source said that about 35 to 50 terrorists were killed in the Syrian army’s counteroffensive in Northwestern Aleppo city.

Some 5,000 to 8,000 terrorists from 15 different terrorist groups have attacked the Syrian army’s military positions in the Southern and Southwestern parts of Aleppo city.

Dara’a

The Syrian army units continued their advances in Dara’a al-Balad region in the Southern city of Dara’a on Tuesday, inflicting heavy losses on the terrorist groups and destroying their command centers.

The terrorists’ concentration centers and military positions in al-Nazeheen camp in Dara’a al-Balad were destroyed in the Syrian army’s offensives.

“An army special task force in a precise operation destroyed a command post and gathering center of the terrorist groups to the East of the town of al-Yadouda in the countryside of Dara’a.

Hama

The Syrian army’s ground force targeted and destroyed the terrorists’ military positions in the surrounding areas of Atshan village Northeast of Hama as the country’s air force struck different regions in the town of al-Lataminah.

The ground troops also advanced in several districts of al-Lataminah town with air force backup.

The Syrian fighter jets also pounded military positions of the terrorists in the village of Um Harateen in Northeastern countryside of Hama and al-Zara village in Southern Hama.

Meantime, the terrorists’ military positions in Hirbnafsa in Southern Hama also came under the Syrian airstrikes.

In the Southwestern countryside of Hama, the Fatah al-Sham Front (the newly formed al-Qaeda-affiliated terrorist group previously known as the al-Nusra Front) attempted to take control of al-Zara power plant, but they were pushed back by the Syrian army.

The Syrian army also destroyed a BMP vehicle in al-Madajen Front to the North of al-Zara village.

Homs

The Syrian army continued its military gains in the Northern part of Homs province, destroying their command headquarters and killing over a dozen terrorists in the surrounding areas of the city of Talbiseh.

An army unit destroyed the command centers and military vehicles of the Fatah al-Sham Front (the newly formed al-Qaeda-affiliated terrorist group previously known as the al-Nusra Front) in the surrounding areas of Talbiseh city.

At least 14  Fatah al-Sham Front terrorists, including notorious terrorists Mohammed Saleh al-Abbas and Taher al-Omar, were killed in clashes with the Syrian government troops.

Meantime, battlefield sources in city of Homs disclosed that the Syrian army units backed by popular forces have killed several ISIL terrorists in fierce clashes near the ancient city of Palmyra (Tadmur) silos, Sha’er and al-Talileh regions towards the direction of Howeisis in Eastern Homs.

The sources said that the Syrian air force struck the ISIL’s military positions and gathering centers in al-Sukheneh, al-Tayebeh regions and in the surrounding areas of Arak oilfield, inflicting heavy losses and casualties on the terrorists.

Damascus

The Syrian army backed by the country’s air force continued its military advances in Damascus countryside, inflicting heavy losses on the terrorists’ military positions in Eastern and Western Ghoutas.

The Syrian fighter jets pounded heavily the gathering centers of the terrorists in the surrounding areas of the town of Ataya on Tuesday.

The terrorists’ military positions in the town of al-Sheyfouniyeh in Eastern Ghouta also came under the Syrian airstrikes.

Meantime, heavy clashes are currently underway in the Momtad farms located between Housh Nasri and Housh al-Zawahera in Eastern Ghouta.

The Syrian ground forces also attacked the terrorists’ positions in the surrounding areas of Khan al-Sheikh in Western Ghouta.

Sweida

The Syrian army fended off an attack by terrorists on its military positions near a strategic village in the Northwestern part of Sweida province.

The terrorists tried to capture the Syrian army’s military position in the surrounding areas of Waqam village Northwest of Sweida province, but they were pushed back by the timely counterattack of the Syrian army.

“An army unit clashed with a group of terrorists who had infiltrated from al-Lujat area towards one of the military points in Waqam village and that a number of terrorists were killed in the clashes, while others fled, and their weapons and munitions were destroyed,” the Arabic-language media quoted an unnamed military source as saying.
