The militants had to flee the strategic Saifodolleh region in Aleppo after the Syrian army units made major advances in the area.

Saifodolleh is an important region in Aleppo that has been the scene of fierce clashes between the Syrian army and the armed rebels since a year ago. However, militants were forced to withdraw from the region after they lost the ground to the army troops and after government forces won control over residential areas and other positions in the region.

The army also took control of the Cable Manufacturing Plant and the Weapons Manufacturing Factory in Southern Aleppo. The two factories are located in Tel Hasel region near Base 80 of the Syrian army.

On Friday, a military source said that the Syrian army units have gained full control over Tel Hasel in Aleppo countryside after killing a large number of terrorists and chasing their remnants in the surrounding areas.

The conflict in Syria started in March 2011, when sporadic pro-reform protests turned into a massive insurgency following the intervention of western and regional states.

The unrest, which took in terrorist groups from across Europe, the Middle-East and North Africa, has transpired as one of the bloodiest conflicts in recent history.

As the foreign-backed insurgency in Syria continues without an end in sight, the US government has boosted its political and military support to Takfiri extremists.

Washington has remained indifferent to warnings by Russia and other world powers about the consequences of arming militant groups.
