The Syrian army forces in the Northern province of Aleppo killed a notorious ringleader of the so-called Free Syrian Army (FSA).
Provincial sources said on Friday that different neighborhoods in the city of Aleppo were the scenes of heavy clashes between the rebels and the Syrian army men, who killed, wounded and captured dozens of militants.

During the clashes which mostly happened in Shaihan hospital, tens of terrorists were killed, including Khalid Hayani, the commander of the unit 16 of the FSA, who had led many mortar and missile attacks against Aleppo residential areas.

Syria has been grappling with a deadly crisis since March 2011. The violence fuelled by Takfiri groups has so far claimed the lives of over 210,000 people, according to reports. New figures show that over 76,000 people, including thousands of children, lost their lives in Syria last year.

Over 3.8 million Syrians have left their country since the beginning of the crisis. According to reports, more than seven million Syrians have become internally displaced.
