Syria red line of anti-Israel resistance front: Iran Cmdr.

A senior Iranian military commander says Syria is the red line of the anti-Israel resistance front and all freedom-seeking countries should support it against enemies.

“The issue of Syria is very significant and the red line of [anti-Israel] resistance front. Therefore, any negotiations on this issue should take place within framework of the interests of resistance [movement] and the Syrian people that have become a target for terrorists as well as Arrogant regimes affiliated with the West,” Deputy Head of Iran’s Armed Forces Chiefs of Staff Brigadier General Seyyed Masoud Jazayeri said on Wednesday.

He added that the global Arrogance has launched a flagrant subversive and terrorist effort against the Syrian government and nation and freedom-seeking states should therefore firmly support Syria against its enemies.

The official said the West and reactionary Arab regimes have launched psychological operations to show that they are winning the war in Syria, but all evidence shows that the Syrian government and nation has prevailed.

Jazayeri said Syria and its allies should expose this big lie and show to the world that the US, global Zionism, and regional reactionary regimes have been defeated in the face of Syria’s resistance.

He concluded by saying that countries fostering the Syrian unrest should be taken to task in the forthcoming summit meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement in Tehran and be held accountable for the massacre of civilians and destruction of the Syrian cities.

The 16th summit of the NAM member states will be held in the Iranian capital on August 26-31.

Syria has been experiencing unrest since mid-March 2011, with many people, including large number of security forces, killed in the turmoil.

While the West and the Syrian opposition accuse the government of the killings, Damascus blames outlaws, saboteurs and insurgents for the unrest, insisting that it is being orchestrated from abroad.
