Syria: Terrorists’ Offensives in Western Aleppo Fended Off for 2nd Day

The military fronts in Western Aleppo are witnessing severe clashes between the Syrian army and the terrorist groups for the second consecutive day, field sources said on Saturday.

“After heavy clashes with Jeish al-Fatah terrorists who sought to advance in Jam’iyat al-Zahra district, the Syrian army killed and wounded dozens of terrorists and repelled their offensive,” the sources said.

Also, military sources reported that the army troops and their allies used artillery and missile fire to repulse the terrorists’ attack which had started by blowing up a military vehicle in Jam’iyat al-Zahra district in Western Aleppo.

Also, the Syrian army clashed heavily with Jeish al-Fatah terrorists in Dahiyat al-Assad district in Western Aleppo, the sources added.

Another military source also reported that the army forces targeted the militants’ gathering centers in the region with missile and artillery fire.

“The army troops also attacked the terrorists’ positions at the Scientific Research Center in Western Aleppo and inflicted tens of casualties on militants,” the source said, adding that the Syrian warplanes also heavily pounded the militants’ bases in Dahiyat al-Assad and Jam’iyat al-Zahra.

Syrian Government forces have engaged in heavy fighting with Jeish al-Fatah terrorists in at least four neighborhoods in Western Aleppo city since Friday.

“Syrian army soldiers and popular forces have inflicted major losses and tens of casualties on Jeish al-Fatah’s militants in Jam’iyat al-Zahra district, Scientific Research Center, and neighborhoods of al-Kathar al-Bazar and Family House,” army sources reported on Friday.

“A militant tank and two more explosive-laden cars of the militants also were targeted in the Western districts of Aleppo,” they added.

“One more bomb-laden suicide vehicle of the terrorists was targeted and detonated in al-Rashedeen neighborhood in the Southern outskirts of Aleppo city,” the sources went on to say.

Also yesterday, the Syrian government forces repelled Jeish al-Fatah’s offensives on their strongholds in the districts and neighborhoods of Dahiyat al-Assad, al-Rashedeen 4 and 5, Sowq a-Jebes, Housisng Project 1070, al-Hikmeh School and Jam’iyat al-Sahafi’ein, inflicting at least 25 casualties on the militants.

Syrian artillery and missile units assisted the army soldiers in their defense.

In the meantime, a large number of fresh soldiers joined the army front in Dahiyat al-Assad.

Other reports said on Friday that 13 civilians, including four children, were killed and at least 55 others were wounded in Jeish al-Fatah’s missile attacks on Aleppo’s residential areas.

Jeish al-Fatah’s missile unis shelled Aleppo neighborhoods of Dahiyay al-Assad, 3,000-Unit Housing Project, the districts of al-Hamdaniyeh, New Aleppo, Salahuddin and near Sa’adullah square, leaving 13 dead and over 55 wounded.
