‘Syria trying to minimize civilian casualties in Idlib’

The Syrian government forces are planning to retake the province of Idlib as they are watchful to minimize the civilian casualties during an impending military operation in the terrorist-held region, says a commentator.

Rick Sterling, investigative journalist, told Press TV on Saturday that “there is agreement that they want to minimize any civilian casualties and Russia has emphasized that the Syrian government with their allies will be proceeding in step by step method and they will be absolutely minimizing civilian casualties as they have done in the past.”

The journalist underlined that “the Syrians are going to proceed, they are going to minimize casualties and they are determined to recapture all Syrian territory, which is of course their right under international law.”

As the Syrian armed forces backed by their allies are preparing for the liberation of Idlib, the last stronghold of foreign-backed terrorists in Syria, presidents of Russia, Turkey and Iran met in Tehran on Friday to find a way to drive terrorists out of Idlib with the least humanitarian cost.

At the end of the Tehran Trilateral Summit, the Iranian, Turkish and Russian presidents issued a joint statement, reaffirming their determination to continue cooperation until the eradication of all terrorist groups in Syria.
