Syria war to trigger global outrage

6370626450924b87e29305049c4822d7_LA senior Iranian cleric has warned the United States against sparking outrage across the globe by waging yet another war, this time in Syria.

According to Press TV, addressing worshippers in Tehran on Friday, Kazem Seddiqi said the US, already entangled in Iraq and Afghanistan mires, is being fooled by Zionist regime into getting bogged down in another swamp.
The US has stepped up its war rhetoric against Syria after Syria insurgents and the foreign-backed opposition accused the Syrian Army of having used chemical weapons to target insurgent strongholds in the suburbs of Damascus on August 21.
The Syrian government has strongly rejected the accusations, but vowed to counter any act of aggression against the country.
Iran, Russia and China, among other countries, have warned against foreign military intervention in Syria, which remains grappled with a deadly unrest that has been plaguing the Arab country since 2011.
Warning that a strike on Syria would initiate an endless war Washington could never win, Seddiqi noted “This mistake by the US will spark public hate in the Muslim world and across the globe.”
The cleric also touched on the political standoff in Egypt, echoing remarks made earlier by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, who ruled out any interference in the internal affairs of the North African country.
However, Seddiqi urged Egyptian leaders to prevent the turmoil that has gripped the country since the ouster of President Mohamed Morsi in July from pushing the country into “civil war.”
He also urged greater efforts to uphold the Islamic Awakening movement in the country and prepare the grounds for the Egyptians to decide for their country’s future in a free election.
The cleric also condemned the rampant violence and unrelenting terrorist attacks in Iraq as part of an enemy plot to sow sectarian strife in the Muslim country.
He heaped praise on Iraq’s Shia clergy for their efforts to foil the scheme.
