Syrian Air Force Conducts Heavy Bombing on Terrorists’ Positions in Idlib Province

The Syrian Air Force pounded the positions and movements of Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at (the Levant Liberation Board or the Al-Nusra Front) in the Northwestern province of Idlib, inflicting major losses on the militants on Wednesday.

The warplanes struck heavily Tahrir al-Sham’s strongholds and movements in the villages and townships of Jisr al-Shughour, Basnaqoul, Einata, al-Bashiriyeh, Mashmashan, Farikeh, Orum al-Jowz, Kaniseh Bani Azz and Mahmabal in Western Idlib and also al-Rami in Southern Idlib.

A number of terrorists were killed and several positions were destroyed in the air raids.

The air raids were carried out a few hours after Tahrir al-Sham’s heavy attack on army positions in Northern Lattakia.

In the meantime, the army’s artillery and missile units opened heavy fire at terrorists’ positions in the villages of al-Mantar and Farikeh in Western Idlib and other militant-held regions in Southern Idlib.

The Arabic-language website of Sputnik reported last week that the Russian and Syrian warplanes staged a heavy bombing on terrorists’ movements amid a heavy offensive of Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at and the terrorists of Horas al-Din against the government forces’ positions in Souran township in Northern Hama.

It said that the warplanes further struck terrorists’ positions in the villages and towns of Skeik, al-Tamanna, Ma’arkaba and Lahaya in Northern Hama and Southern Idlib, weakening the combat and supplying capacities of the terrorists in al-Latamina region.

The report went on to say that the army later dispatched more troops to the battlefield and gained back lost lands from terrorists in Souran region.

At least 35 terrorists were killed or wounded in the failed attack of the terrorists and in the bombardments.

Several terrorist groups, including Jeish al-Izzah, Horas al-Din and Tahrir al-Sham are operating in Northern Hama regardless of the presence of Turkish troops’ monitoring points.
