Syrian Air Force drops thousands of leaflets demanding complete surrender of Jisr Al-Shughour

Syrian Arab Air Force dropped thousands of leaflets over Jisr Al-Shughour, demanding that the Islamist rebels from Jaysh Al-Fateh (Army of Conquest) surrender the entire city to the Syrian Arab Army (SAA).

The leaflet read that if Jisr Al-Shughour is not surrendered to the Syrian Armed Forces, then the latter will take it upon themselves to liberate the city, with no quarter given to the enemy units. Currently, the Syrian Armed Forces are quickly approaching Jisr Al-Shughour from the Aleppo-Latakia Highway (M-4 Highway); it is very likely that they can be at this strategic city’s gates by March, if the Islamist rebels are unable forestall the government advance in northeastern Latakia.

The city of Jisr Al-Shughour was captured by Jaysh Al-Fateh in May of 2015 when they swept through the Idlib Governorate countryside, seizing several villages from the Syrian Arab Army’s 87th Brigade of the 11th Tank Division.
