Syrian Ambassador to Lebanon: Patriotic Path to Thrive despite Abrasions

The Syrian Ambassador to Lebanon Ali Abdel Karim Ali hoped that “Lebanon would overcome all secession,” noting that “foreign forces, chiefly Zionism, wishes to plant secession in this area.”

In a meeting with head of Change and Reform Bloc MP General Michel Aoun, Ali stated, “The patriotic path will thrive despite abrasions.”
He further added: “General Aoun expressed certainty, and in spite of the aggression on Syria, victory will be the definite end to the war. We deliberated repercussions and political resolutions through Syrian-Syrian dialogue and Lebanese-Syrian brotherhood.”

Regarding the alleged Syrian aircrafts shelling the Syrian-Lebanese borderline, Ali pointed out, “The Lebanese Army’s statement did not indicate such [shelling], and Syria denied that Lebanese sovereignty was violated.”
“There are armed men with Lebanese and Palestinian nationalities as well as Syrians who come to Lebanon and exploit Lebanese territories for such aggression, and this is therefore an aggression on both Lebanese and Syrian sovereignties,” he added.

“We make sure to have tight relations with Lebanon, and we wish to manifest these through joint accords, since Arab countries sponsored by the US participate in the aggression on Syria,” Ali further stressed.
