Syrian Army Advances from Aleppo to Idlib, Kills Notorious Al-Nusra Commander

 

The Syrian army regained control of new regions during military operations against al-Nusra Front (Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at or the Levant Liberation Board) in Southeastern Aleppo to reach Idlib.

The army forces continued clashes with al-Nusra terrorists in Southeastern Aleppo, retaking control of Syria Tel hill and the village of Rasm al-Kabarah South-West of the town of Khanasser.

Meantime, the army’s missile and artillery units attacked al-Nusra position in Tal Ahmar region in Western Khanasser, killing over 20 terrorists.

A military source said that the two villages of Rasm Sayaleh and Ramleh are the next targets of the army, adding that they will target the terrorists’ positions in the two regions with artillery and missile fire.

He noted that during the army offensives against the militants’ moves on Borj Sabna-Rasm al-Sayaleh road in Western Khanasser, a senior commander of al-Nusra named Abu Amireh Misri was killed along with one of his aides.

In a relevant development in Idlib on Wednesday, Hamoud al-Fayadh, a security commander of the Al-Nusra Front, was gunned down by unknown attackers in Northwestern parts of the province.

Dissident-affiliated websites reported that Hamoud al-Fayadh nom de guerre Abu Mohammad al-Homawi, an Al-Nusra security commander in Eastern regions, was killed by the fire of unidentified attackers in a region between the town of Kafr Takharim and the town of Armanaz in Northwestern Idlib.
