Shortly after the terrorists failed to capture the village of Hawsh Al-Nasri, the Syrian Arab Army’s 105th Brigade of the Republican Guard, backed by the National Defense Forces (NDF), launched their own assault to expel Jaysh Al-Islam (Army of Islam) from the area.

The counter-assault at Hawsh Al-Nasri would prove successful for the Syrian Armed Forces, as they were able to impose full control over the village and its nearby farms.

This successful counter-assault at Hawsh Al-Nasri paved the way for the Syrian Armed Forces to storm the northern flank of Hawsh Dawahrah, another village in the East Ghouta region of rural Damascus.

According to an Al-Masdar field correspondent in Damascus City, the Syrian Armed Forces killed 9 members of Jaysh Al-islam en route to their advancement at Hawsh Dawahrah’s northern outskirts.

Clashes are still ongoing at the moment, as the Syrian Armed Forces continue to push south.
