The Russian Air Force and Syrian Army, in joint operations on Monday, stormed the positions of the al-Nusra Front in different parts of the Central Hama governorate, the local sources said, adding that the al-Qaeda-affiliated group is now pinned down in different regions.

The sources said that the headquarters of al-Nusra Front were targeted by the Russian fighter jets in Kafr Nabudah, Latmeen and Lataminah.

Meantime, a main weapon and ammunitions depot of the Nusra militants was exploded in the Russian air attack in Kafr Zita.

The sources said that the Syrian army, with the aerial backup of the Russian warplanes, raided the militant centers in all the abovementioned locations and killed tens of them.

On Sunday, the Syrian Army, with the Russian warplanes’ backup, pushed back the militant groups from Fawru town at Hama border with Idlib.

The sources said that the Russian Air Force targeted the positions of al-Qaeda-affiliated group of Jeish al-Fateh with a series of powerful airstrikes inside the al-Ghaab Plains of the Hama governorate’s western territories, destroying much of the aforementioned terrorist group’s hardware in the town of Fawru, while also weakening their defenses.

Following the Russian warplanes’ attacks, the Syrian army alongside popular forces stormed the defense lines of Jeish Al-Fateh’s largest factions – Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham and Al-Nusra Front – at the important city of Fawru on the border of the Idlib Governorate.

Following a series of intense firefights with the militant groups, the Syrian Armed Forces took full-control of Fawru, killing over 20 enemy combatants.
