The Syrian Army and its popular allies struck heavy blows at the Takfiri militants in Homs province and imposed full control over a part of oil-rich regions in the Eastern territories of the province.

The Syrian army backed by the National Defense Forces (NDF) and Kataebat al-Ba’ath (Al-Ba’ath Battalions), who imposed full control over 8 hilltops near the strategic village of Jazal on Monday, recaptured almost 7 km worth of oil rich territory that was under the control of the ISIL in the Jazal Mountain.

In addition to their advance in the Jazal Mountain, the Syrian Armed Forces continued their assault on the ISIL positions near the desert-city of Palmyra (Tadmur), focusing on the small village of al-Dawa.

Currently, the Syrian Armed Forces are less than 3 km away from Jabal Qassoun at Palmyra’s Western side; if they are able to seize al-Dawa, they will be within striking distance of this small mountaintop.

Reposts said on Monday that The ISIL militants left behind scores of the dead and wounded members and fled more positions in the Northern and Eastern parts of Homs province under the heavy offensives of the Syrian Army and the National Defense Forces.

The Syrian government forces continued to hit the ISIL lines of defense in Jazal region and forced the militant group to pull forces back from the battlefield.

The Syrian army and allies further imposed full control over eight more hills in Jazal region.

The ISIL suffered a heavy death toll and its military hardware sustained major damage in the attacks.
