For 6 straight days, the terrorists of Jabhat Al-Nasra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group) and the Free Syrian Army (FSA) attempted to recapture the imperative Battalion 82 Housing Facility inside the city of Sheikh Miskeen in the Dara’a Governorate’s northern countryside; however, they were repelled every single time by the Syrian Arab Army’s 15th Brigade of the 5th Armored Division.

Following the last infiltration attempt at the housing facility by the Islamist rebels on Friday, the Syrian Arab Army’s 15th Brigade and their allies from the National Defense Forces (NDF) went on the offensive, striking Jabhat Al-Nusra’s frontline defenses before sunrise on Saturday morning.

Not long after they launched the preliminary assault on Jabhat Al-Nusra’s defenses, the Syrian Arab Army’s 15th Brigade and the National Defense Forces were joined by the elite 7th Mechanized Division; this provided them the necessary personnel boost to penetrate through the Islamist rebel defenses and enter the southern district of Sheikh Miskeen.

According to a military source at the 5th Amored Division’s headquarters in the city of Izra’a, the Syrian Armed Forces seized 20 buildings that were occupied by the Islamist rebels, including a command-and-control center.

The firefights sporadically continued throughout the night; however, they are likely to start back up as the Syrian Air Force continues its devastating aerial campaign above the cities of Sheikh Miskeen and Nawa.
