Syrian Army begins process to reopen important highway in Damascus

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has begun the process of restoring the southern part of the Damascus-Homs Highway after closing several years ago.

According to local reports, the Syrian Army has cleared several barriers around the town of Zamalka.

These roadblocks were inputted by the Syrian Army during the first years of the war, as the highway was no longer safe to use.

The last obstacle preventing the Damascus-Homs Highway from reopening is the town of Douma, which is situated north of the southern bypass of this roadway.
