Syrian Army Cuts off Terrorists’ Supply Lines in Deir Ezzur’s Countryside

The Syrian Army troops pushed ISIL back from more positions on the Eastern bank of the Euphrates River on Saturday, closing off the terrorists’ supply lines.

The army soldiers advances significantly against ISIL on the Eastern bank of the Euphrates River and deployed along the road connecting Deir Ezzur city to Hasaka province.

A military source said that the army has now cut off the entire supply roads of ISIL after it advanced against terrorists in al-Salehiyeh region at the Northern entrance of Deir Ezzur city and at the al-Siyasah bridge.

Relevant reports said on Friday that the Syrian army troops uncovered and destroyed a large mortar shells plant that ISIL terrorists used to attack residential neighborhoods in Deir Ezzur city during the three-year blockade.

A large plant of ISIL terrorist group was found in the town of al-Mayadeen in Southeastern Deir Ezzur, a local source said.

The source added that the “plant itself has been destroyed and a depot with thousands of produced shells was left.” It was also said that, according to identification marks, some of the shells’ components were supplied to the terrorists by Arab states in the Persian Gulf.

According to the Syrian intelligence services, ISIL supplied shells from al-Mayadeen to use them to attack Deir Ezzur city’s residential neighborhoods, which is now controlled by the government’s armed forces.
