Syrian Army Discovers Al-Nusra-Built Car Tunnel in Damascus

The tunnel which was built between Ein Tarma and Jobar regions in Eastern Damascus was used by the al-Nusra terrorists for carrying weapons by vehicles.

In another development on Saturday, the Syrian soldiers regained control of one of the most important checkpoints in Ein Tarma region after clashes with the terrorists and killing a large number of them.

Earlier today, the Syrian Army, backed by friendly fighter jets, resumed advances in the Eastern suburbs of Damascus, recapturing several sites inside Ein Tarma region.

Supported by the air force’s heavy airstrikes, the Syrian army’s 105th Brigade of the Republican Guard managed to capture the Ein Tarma’s Meat Market and the surrounding buildings after fierce battle with Faylaq al-Rahman terrorists.

Meanwhile, another unit of the 105th Brigade, alongside the Palestine Liberation Army (PLA) and National Defense Forces (NDF), stormed the militant-held Taybeh District of Jobar in Northwest of Ein Tarma, resulting in a series of clashes this morning.

Fierce clashes are still ongoing at several axes in Eastern Damascus as the Syrian army is trying to win the upper-hand in this important area near the capital.
