Syrian Army Dispatches More Troops, Equipment to Idlib

The Syrian Army has forwarded more soldiers and military equipment to Southern Idlib to accelerate its advances against terrorists, field sources said on Friday.

The sources reported that the army has sent a large number of forces and a large volume of military hardware to three flanks to join their comrades’ liberation operation at Abu al-Dhohour airbase in Southeastern Idlib.

The sources said that the army is to accelerate its advances towards Abu al-Dhohour airbase following the arrival of the fresh forces.

In the meantime, the army’s fresh convoy of forces and equipment arrived in the small town of al-Safireh in Eastern Aleppo, other sources reported.

Also, the Syrian Air Force carried out a number of combat flights over terrorists’ strongholds in al-Rahjan, Abu Dali, Mosheirefeh, Atshan and al-Latamina regions in Northern Hama and Southern Idlib, killing tens of militants and destroying their equipment.

Military sources disclosed on Wednesday that the army troops were preparing for breaking the siege imposed by terrorists on the Shiite towns of Fua’a and Kafraya in the Northeastern countryside of Idlib city within the framework of their operation to free the Abu al-Dhohour airbase.

The sources pointed to the army’s ongoing operations to reach Abu al-Dhohour airbase in Southeastern Idlib and added that the army’s control over the base would pave the way for the easier advances and ultimately lift of the siege imposed by militants on Fua’a and Kafraya.

The army’s plan for Fua’a and Kafraya comes after the terrorist groups’ violation of their commitment to the agreement for the exit of residents of Fua’a and Kafraya and indifferences of international relief and rescue bodies to the besieged towns’ population.

The Syrian army is currently advancing towards Abu al-Dhohour from two fronts in Northern and Northeastern Hama and a front in Southern Aleppo.
