Syrian Army: Eastern Ghouta in Damascus Countryside Fully Under Control

The General Command of the Army and Armed Forces announced on Sunday that the Armed Forces carried out a special operation in the Eastern Ghouta area in Damascus countryside which resulted in the area becoming fully under control.

In a statement, the General Command said that the Syrian Army is continuing its mission of pursuing Jabhet al-Nusra terrorists and NATO mercenaries, and that as part of the General Command’s plan to rid Damascus countryside of terrorism, the Armed Forces carried out on Saturday a special operation in the Eastern Ghouta area in Damascus countryside in cooperation with honest citizens which resulted in the area becoming fully under control.

The General Command said that work is underway to expel the remaining terrorists from the entirety of the Ghouta area and Damascus countryside and eventually restoring security in all of Syria.

The statement said that the General Command will continue announcing the achievements of the Syrian Army in combating terrorists on the ground, thanking honest citizens for their cooperation with the Armed Forces.

The General Command reiterated its calls for those who were misled into bearing arms to abandon their weapons so that their status can be resolved similar to those who returned to the right path, which helps stop bloodshed and restore security and stability to the country.
