A large number of Muslim pilgrims from various nationalities depart for the holy Iraqi cities of Najaf and Karbala every year to take part in Arbaeen pilgrimage. It remains the world’s largest annual peaceful gathering. Arbaeen comes 40 days after Ashura, the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (PBUH).
