Syrian Army Imposes Control over 20% of Eastern Ghouta

The Syrian army won control of over 20% of Eastern Ghouta of Damascus during the military operations in the region on Sunday.

Field sources reported that the Syrian army has succeeded in cleansing terrorists from areas South-East of Eastern Ghouta during its nightly operations in the past week, and earned control of al-Nashabiyeh, Hawsh al-Salehiyeh and Otaya regions.

They added that the army soldiers have liberated almost 23sq/km of 106sq/km of territories occupied by terrorists in Eastern Ghouta during the operations.

The Syrian Army troops, in a nightly attack on Saturday and Sunday, managed to impose control over a strategic point in the depth of Eastern Ghouta after a daily truce in the region ended.

The army men stormed terrorists’ strongholds in Eastern Ghouta Southwest of al-Shifouniyeh settlement and seized control of al-Ab (Ab Douma) Farms after a daily-based ceasefire in the region ended on Saturday night.

Also, field sources in Eastern Ghouta reported that the army has advanced in militant-held regions near the small towns of al-Ash’ari, Mesraba and Beit Sawa, adding that the terrorists’ supply line from Douma to al-Shifouniyeh has militarily been cut off.

The army men captured the key town of Otaya in the Southern part of Eastern Ghouta earlier this morning.
