Syrian Army inches closer to besieging southeast Idlib – map

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in rural Idlib is on the verge of linking up with their forces in the southeastern countryside of Aleppo after making several important advances over the last 48 hours.

Led by their Republican Guard forces, the Syrian Arab Army managed to capture at least a half dozen towns from the jihadist rebels in southeast Aleppo, today, putting their units within distance of the troops at the nearby Abu Dhuhour Military Airport.

While the Republican Guard attempts to besiege the militant groups, the Syrian Army’s elite Tiger Forces are busy storming the Abu Dhuhour Military Airport in a bid to advance deeper into the Idlib Governorate.

According to a military source in Hama, the Syrian Army should be able to assert control over the Abu Dhuhour Airport in the next 48 hours, as Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham’s front-lines collapse at this installation.
