Continuing with their momentum in east Homs, the Syrian Arab Army’s special forces unit, “Tiger Forces” (Qawat Al-Nimr), captured the village of Al-Mushayrifah located south of the recently liberated Khattab.

According to a military source, the assault began directly after the liberation of Khattab from the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS), leading to the Tiger Forces eventual infiltration into the village of Al-Mushayrifah and its capture 24 hours later.

The source also added that 19 ISIS militants were killed during the battle for Al-Mushayrifah, including their field command “‘Anwar Jamaal Al-Sobhi.” Among the dead, the following were identified: “IsHaq Bashir Abu Saleh”, “Thabit ‘Umar Al-Younis”, “Khalid Wasseem Fakhreddine”, “Bilaal ‘Issa Al-Hussein”, and “Nasser ‘Ikraam Al-‘Ansari.”

The capture of Al-Mushayrifah by the Tiger Forces has allowed for the loyalist forces to continue their progression in east Homs – an area that was once overran by ISIS militants as they attempted to isolate the entrenched soldiers at Jabal Al-Sha’ar.
