Syrian Army Liberates 5 More Regions in Idlib, Preparing to Lay Siege on Al-Nusra Front

The Syrian Army continued its military operations in Southern Idlib, and managed to take full control of five more regions paving the way for laying siege on Al-Nusra Front and other terrorist groups in Jebel al-Zawiyeh.

The army kept on pounding the military positions of Al-Nusra Front, Ansar al-Tawhid and al-Hezb al-Turkistani and chased them to the depth of Jebel al-Zawiyeh.

The Syrian Army troops regained full control of the town of Hazarin, Southwest of Kafar Nubl. Kafar Nubl was an important bastion of Al-Nusra Front which was taken back on Tuesday.

By taking full control of Hazarin, the Syrian Army is only 12 kilometers away from laying full siege on terrorists.

In a relevant development on Monday, the Syrian Army units continued their advances in South Idlib in Northwestern Syria, and managed to take full control of five villages and regions.

“The Syrian Army retook the villages and regions of al-Rakaya, Tal al-Nar, Kafar Sajneh, al-Sheikh Mustafa and al-Naqir,” the London-based Syrian Observatory of Human Rights (SOHR) said.

The Syrian Army resumed its military operations to the South of Idlib city after several days.

The army troops have also liberated wide areas of neighbouring Idlib province in Northwestern Syria in recent weeks, moving to capture the crucial M-5 highway linking Aleppo and Damascus from al-Nusra terrorists.

Russia, Turkey and Iran are the ceasefire guarantors in the conflict-affected Syria. Moreover, Moscow regularly carries out humanitarian operations across the country and helps Damascus in providing safe passage for the return of Syrian refugees.
