Syrian army pushes forward with operations against militants

Syrian army is pushing forward with operations against militant organizations in various areas across the country, targeting their gatherings and thwarting their infiltration attempts with the result of numbers of militants getting killed.
Army units thwarted attempts by militants to infiltrate al-Waer farms from the direction of Jisr al-Khrab in Homs, leaving a number of them dead and wounded, according to a military source.
Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reporter quoted the source as saying that army units targeted gatherings of militants in the villages of Rahoum, al-Sultaniyeh, al-Shendakhiyeh and al-Msheirfeh in the eastern countryside of Homs.
Other gatherings of militants were also targeted in al-Rastan, in the villages of Kafrlaha and Taldo in al-Houleh and in the villages of al-Qneitrat and al-Aamrat in Talbiseh in the countryside. Numbers of the militants were killed and others were injured in the operations.
The army units inflicted heavy losses upon militants during operations that targeted their gatherings and hideouts in many areas in Aleppo.
A military source told SANA that army units killed and injured a number of militants in a series of operations that targeted their gatherings in al-Jandoul, al-Mallah farms, al-Sukkari, Sirj Fare’, al-Smeiriyeh, al-Kherbeh, al-Hajeb, Qneitrat, Um al-Qura, Tredem, Manbej and al-Saliheen. Many of the militants’ vehicles were destroyed in the operations.
The source added that an army unit eliminated a gathering of militants in the area of al-Sheikh Khidr.
Units of the Syrian army killed and injured scores of al-Nusra Front militants, most of them are non-Syrians, and destroyed their ammunition caches, missiles and heavy machine guns mounted on vehicles in the villages of Ketf al-Rumman, al-Zweik, al-Daghmashliyeh and Saqyet al-Kert in the northern countryside of Latakia.
A military source told SANA reporter that Munir Baysal from Turkey, Mazen al-Ashqar and Mahmoud Abu al-Eynain from Palestine, and the Moroccan Ahmad Abu Derbal, a leader in al-Nusra Front militant organization, were among the dead.
The army units killed and injured numbers of militants and obliterated their gatherings and hideouts in many areas in Daraa and Quneitra.
A military source told SANA that the army targeted militants’ gatherings in al-Lujat, Atman, Tal Matwaq al-Kabeer, Inkhel and al-Tiba in Daraa’s western countryside, killing many militants and destroying their weaponry.
The army clashed with militants in Tal al-Jabyeh in Daraa western countryside and in Salmin, killing a number of them and destroying a vehicle equipped with heavy machinegun.
The army also clashed with militants who tried to infiltrate a military post in Tal al-Zaatar, killing a number of the assailants and destroying a car bomb along with the militants in it.
In Quneitra countryside, The army units targeted militants’ gatherings in the areas of al-Simdanyeh and Oum Batina and destroyed a vehicle for militants in al-Rawayshina village.
Syria has been gripped by deadly violence since 2011. More than 170,000 people have been killed and millions displaced due to the violence fueled by Western-backed militants.
