The Syrian Army troops fended off a massive attack of Al-Nusra Front (Fatah al-Sham Front) in the Southern city of Dara’a, leaving a number of terrorists dead or wounded.

The army men engaged in fierce clashes with Al-Nusra terrorists East of al-Manshiyeh neighborhood and near Balal Habashi grand mosque in Dara’a al-Balad district and managed to ward off the terrorists’ offensive.

Elsewhere in the district, the army units targeted and destroyed a command post of Al-Nusra in al-Manshiyeh, killing or wounding a number of terrorists.

The army units, meantime, pounded the positions and movements of the terrorists in al-Karak neighborhood, North of al-Mesri square and in the old customs district in Dara’a al-Balad, destroying a machinegun-equipped position and a pickup vehicle on a road connecting Busra al-Harir region to Nahat’ha region in Northern Dara’a.

Local sources said that Al-Nusra’s missile units shelled badly residential areas in al-Matar and al-Sahari neighborhoods in Dara’a city.
