The Syrian Armed Forces thwarted an attack by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) terrorists to take control of a strategic region and military airport in Deir Ezzur in the Eastern parts of the country.
The Takfiri terrorists were pushed back from the surrounding areas of Jebel Al-Matleh strategic region and military airport in Deir Ezzur.

The Syrian troops repelled several attacks by the Takfiri terrorists on different parts of the two strategic targets after tough battles on Sunday.

Meantime, well-informed military sources denied the reports which stated that the ISIL terrorists controlled one of the Syrian army’s positions in the area of al-Jabal in Deir Ezzur.

The sources said that the Syrian army frustrated ISIL’s attack and killed 68 multinational terrorists.

ISIL terrorists fled from the battlefield in large numbers, according to the same sources.

Also, a report recently submitted to the UN Security Council has revealed that the Israeli regime’s military has regular contacts with Takfiri militant groups operating against the Syrian government.

The United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF), which has monitored the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights since 1974, said in a report published by Haaretz on Sunday that Israeli officers and the foreign-backed terrorists have “direct cooperation” on the Syrian border over the past 18 months.

The UNDOF further said they saw Israeli soldiers “on the Eastern side of the border fence opening the gate and letting two people enter Israel.”

The peacekeepers also acknowledged that Israel has been admitting injured militants for medical treatment in Safed and Nahariya hospitals.

“UNDOF observed at least 10 wounded persons being transferred by armed members of the opposition from the Bravo side across the ceasefire line,” according to the report.

The UN observers said in the report that they identified “soldiers on the Israeli side handing over two boxes to armed Syrian opposition members on the Syrian side.”

The report came as Syria has repeatedly complained to the UN over widespread cooperation between Israel and the militants.

The Syrian Army pushed against Takfiri groups in surrounding areas of Idlib province, leaving a large number of militants dead and wounded.

The army troops struck a major blow at the rebels in Hallouz, Jisr al-Shughour, al-Janoudiyeh, Maaret al-Numan, Abu al-Duhour and Ein Martin in Idlib province, killing a large number of them.

Also, the militants suffered major losses in the nearby areas of Homs province, as the Syrian army made gains in Beit Rabaa, al-Ghajar, Kissin, al-Sheikh Ibrahim, and al-Rastan.

Also, Takfiri militants sustained heavy toll on the outskirts of Damascus, after Syrian soldiers intensified their attacks on the armed groups.

The Syrian soldiers claimed the lives of scores of the rebels in in the area of Khan al-Shih, after staging a successful operation against the Takfiri groups in Damascus.

Also, the Takfiri militants suffered major losses in the towns of al-Sheikh Miskeen, Ibta’a, and Nawa, as the army made advances in Daraa province.

Meantime, Syrian army troops on Sunday targeted the concentration centers of the foreign-backed Takfiri militants in several areas in the countryside of the Central province of Homs.

The army destroyed the concentration centers of the Takfiri terrorist organizations in Khirbet Beit Laha in the West of Hassia town, near the Syrian-Lebanese border, leaving many of the militants killed or injured, an informed source said.

More terrorists were killed or injured in other army operations in Beit Rab’a village in al-Rastan in the countryside.

The source also said that an army unit killed several terrorists and injured others in a special operation on Khatmallo village road, East of Homs city, adding that the terrorists’ weapons and ammo were destroyed.

Syrian government forces on Sunday inflicted heavy losses on the foreign-backed militants in Idlib.

The Syrian army destroyed a terrorists’ vehicle while moving from Kafar Med village towards Mahambal in the Idlib countryside, killing all terrorists onboard and destroying their ammunition.
